A Strategic Plan is a deliberate effort to produce decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization is, what it does, and why it does it, guiding decisions and resource allocation while effectively managing change.
These goals were identified through public feedback earlier in the year. The strategies and actions were determined in workgroups consisting of over 65 staff, citizens, and organizations.
NOTE: These are actions that can be taken by Pender County itself. Although there may be other important issues in Pender County, this plan only includes issues the County can address directly. For example, the County cannot address traffic issues in Hampstead directly as this is a function of NCDOT; therefore, it is not included in the identified goals, but there are many actions under Goal 3 that relate to infrastructure and, indirectly, traffic.
