  • 2026 CDEM Academy Awards & Scholarship Nomination Form

  • Nominations are open for the SAEM CDEM Academy Awards. Please help us recognize individuals who are making a difference in CDEM. All nominees must be a current SAEM and CDEM member (Does not apply to the Clerkship Coordinator of the Year Award). Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. Winners will be announced during the CDEM academy meeting at SAEM's annual meeting.

    Required documentation:

    • Letter of support from nominator specifying which award the candidate is being nominated for and how the nominee fulfills the award criteria. (limit 2 pages)
    • What is the relationship of the nominator to the nominee (e.g.,Chair, Residency Director). Self nominations are accepted.
    • Curriculum vitae and/or teaching portfolio of the nominee (Does not apply to Clerkship Coordinator of the Year Award).
    • Nominations may also include other supporting documentation, such as a detailed description of curricular innovations, teaching evaluations, letters of support from colleagues, supervisor or students, funded grant or project applications, and publications.

    Submission Deadline: Friday, February 6, 2026

  • CDEM Longevity Award

  • The Clerkship Directors in Emergency Medicine (CDEM) presents two new awards for Clerkship Directors and Clerkship Coordinators. The Clerkship Director Longevity Award and the Clerkship Coordinator Longevity Award will be presented to individuals in their respective positions that have achieved 5-10-15-20-25-30 years of service. There is no nomination process for these awards, but rather, if an individual fits the criteria of the award, they may complete the below form to receive a certificate.

  • CDEM Medical Education Fellow Travel Scholarship

  • The applicant should be a Medical Education Fellow; they may be an incoming fellow (after matching but prior to starting), a current fellow, or in their first year after completion of a medical education fellowship at the time of application. This award intends to help a fellow network and help promote their career focusing on undergraduate medical education. Fellows should show achievement and/or interest in undergraduate medical education. The recipient must attend the CDEM business meeting at the SAEM Annual Meeting and present any applicable work they have done; they may also propose a didactic to present at the CDEM business meeting. At which time, CDEM will have the honor in recognizing the fellow for their accomplishment. Award funds are contingent on attending SAEM and CDEM All-Member meeting. 

    The award is up to $1,000 with a maximum of two awards that can be given in any application cycle. 

     All nomination packets must include:

    • A letter of support from the medical education fellowship director (limit 2 pages). If an incoming fellow, current residency program director may instead write the letter if the applicant wishes
      Note: we encourage the nominating program to pledge to fund any additional travel costs to the SAEM Annual Meeting that are not covered in full by this award, if possible
    • A personal statement detailing the applicant's interest in the award (limit 2 pages)
    • Curriculum vitae and/or teaching portfolio of the nominee
