2025 Holiday Card Art Contest

Each year, Donor Network Wests hosts our annual Holiday Art Card Contest to showcase the diverse talents of students across our service area while honoring the Gift of Life. Through art, creativity and inspiration we look to capture the spirit of what donating life means.
Our 2025 theme is:

Share Light. Spark Hope.

The light that a family feels from the gift of life being shared with one of their loved ones is fueled by the hope that is created by organ, eye, and tissue donation. This hope and light are what inspire us every single day to carry forth our mission, and we invite students across California and Nevada to show us and the world what light and hope in organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation truly means on the canvas.
Important Dates

Students MUST submit their art online (or postmarked if you are submitting by mail) by November 7, 2025 (11:59 p.m. PST)

Age Group Winners will be announced on November 21, 2025

Social Media Winner will be announced December 5, 2025

(Social Media Voting will open on December 1, 2025)
Submission Guidelines

The overall winning design will be showcased as the 2025 Donor Network West company holiday card.
- Original Design: Artwork must be the original design of the student.
- Submission Limits: Only ONE submission per student is allowed.
- Submission Formats:
  - Paper submissions: Must be on 8.5" x 11" paper.
  - Digital submissions: Must be 8.5" x 11" at 300 DPI and saved as JPG, PDF, or TIFF.
- Eligible Types of Art: Submissions can include paintings, drawings, or digital/computer-generated graphic designs.
- No Text: Please DO NOT include any text in the artwork.
- No AI-Generated Art: Submissions created using AI tools will NOT be accepted.
- Rights and Usage: Donor Network West reserves the right to display, publish, and make submissions available to the public.
- Non-Returnable: Artwork will not be returned to contestants.
- Inclusive: Designs should appeal to people of multiple faiths and ethnicities.
- Submission must be from within our DSA (Donation Service Area):

Judging Criteria

Submissions will be judged on the following criteria by Donor Network West Staff:
- Connection to Theme: "Share Light. Spark Hope."
- Creativity
- Visual Impact
- Artistic Merit
- Originality
Winners will be determined by the artwork that receives the most votes in each age group.

Winning Categories & Prizes

1. Overall Winner: The winner's art will be selected as Donor Network West's official 2025 holiday card. The winner will receive $250.00 and 50 cards with envelopes of their winning design. The first name and last initial will be printed on the back of the card to attribute this artist's work.

2. Age Group Winners: Three winners will be selected, one from each of the following age groups, each receiving a prize of $200.00.
- Age 13 and under
- Age 14 to 18
- Age 19 and above
3. Social Media Favorite: One additional winner will be selected based on social media engagement. The entry with the most likes across our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and Threads) will receive a $100.00 prize.
