Because the guilds will have to find space to work while the AGB building is demolished and then rebuilt (unknown timeline at this point), the executive is exploring options for finding a new location for our guild (and perhaps the other guilds depending on available space) to use during that time, or sooner if the right opportunity presents itself.
As the costs of running the studio will be paid for by our guild, we will need to operate the guild with that in mind. At the new studio, we see 2 membership categories:
Associate membership that allows participation in the sales, attending meetings & speaker presentations, taking part in workshops; and
Studio membership that offers all of the associate member perks, plus:
- Allow our members to have exclusive access to the space 7 days a week
- Electric kiln firing services for all studio members
- Storage for work in progress, etc.
- Other services as funding allows (glazes, workshops etc).
- Opportunities for members to learn different aspects of running a studio such as; maintaining a safe studio space, making glaze, firing, social media, website, exhibitions, sales, etc.
Based on these parameters, we'd like to ask you for your opinion on the following:
