13-17 years old
The closing date for entries is 5 November 2025.
Competition Rules:
1. The theme of the competition is ‘Future Heritage’ and models must be based on some aspect of this theme. Each model should be accompanied by a descriptive paragraph detailing the chosen subject, why it was chosen and what special meaning it may have to its maker.
2. Photographs of LEGO® models should be against a plain, white background, showing as much detail as possible. Please ensure people are not present in the photo. Up to 3 photographs will be accepted.
3. Each entry must be the original, creative work of the entrant. (No sets or partial sets allowed.)
4. Only one entry per child is permitted.
5. Models must be built from 100% LEGO® bricks. No other materials such as paper, cardboard, string, etc, are allowed. All bricks should be in their original form and not cut, glued, painted or modified in any way.
6. Judging will be based on three criteria: Interpretation of theme, artistic merit and building skill.
All entries will be showcased on our social media channels (Irish Architecture Foundation and Open House Dublin) and on the Open House Dublin website and winners may be invited to exhibit their creations at IAF House, our temporary venue in Dublin 2 (so keep your models safe!)
Judging
The competition will be judged by LEGO® Brick Artist Jessica Farrell.
Prizes
There will be 3 prizes for each age category. The winner of each category will receive an age appropriate LEGO set (value €30) and 2 runners in each category will receive a signed copy of Jessica Farrell's book.
