    2025 Fall Backyard Conservation Program Application

  • This program offers a 50/50 reimbursement up to $200.00 to assist Fayette County homeowners in establishing, enhancing, restoring and/or maintaining a backyard conservation project. The purpose of this program is to promote the wise use of soil and water resources and support local ecology.

    Eligibility & Requirements:

    • Limit of one application per individual household.
    • Funds are offered to applicants on a first come, first served basis.
    • Any Fayette County resident is eligible to apply (renters and owners welcome.
    • Projects completed within 60 days before approval date are eligible to submit.
    • Project must be completed 60 days after approval.
    • LEGIBLE receipts and photographs of completed project must be submitted 60 days after approval.
    • Hardscaping (such as fire pits and pavers), tire mulch, food for wildlife (such as bird seed), annual pollinators, fertilizers, pesticides, and motorized equipment (such as lawnmowers) are not eligible.
    • Applications for planting native trees/shrubs will be granted priority funding.
