    Join us for the 4th annual Wonderfest, a vibrant celebration of everything weird and wonderful about West Hill! This unique festival invites you to dive into an unforgettable experience filled with creativity, community, and fun.

    As a volunteer, you’ll be an essential part of this exciting event!

    Whether you’re helping with setup, assisting vendors, or guiding attendees, your support will help create a magical atmosphere at Wonderfest. Come be part of something special and help us celebrate the eclectic spirit of West Hill!

  • Most volunteer shifts are two hours. Please pick the position and time(s) you are available to volunteer. 

  • Festival Foundations Crew (floating):
    Help set up equipment, booths, and infrastructure before the festival starts.

  • NEW THIS YEAR!
    The West Hill 5K of Wonders is a fun run/walk through Akron’s historic West Hill neighborhood. Kicking off Wonderfest, this community event invites participants of all ages to lace up, explore the neighborhood, and celebrate the quirky, creative spirit that makes West Hill unique.

  • Packet Pick-Up Crew
    Be the first friendly faces our runners see! You’ll hand out race packets, bibs, and shirts, answer basic questions, and help get everyone ready for the West Hill 5K of Wonders. Organization and smiles are key for this role.

  • Water Station Team:
    Keep our participants hydrated and encouraged along the route! You’ll set up and staff the water table, hand out cups to runners, walkers, and cheer them on as they pass through, and clean up after. High energy and positive vibes required!

  • Finish Line:
    Celebrate every finisher! As a Finish Line Champion, you’ll hand out water and snacks, cheer on participants as they cross the line, and help keep the finish area moving smoothly. You’ll be part of the most exciting moment of the race.

  • Clean Team (floating):
    Monitor and empty trash and recycling bins throughout the event. The Clean Team will also help out filling water stations, and serve as runners.

  • Street Monitors:
    (positioned at the end of streets: Woodland & Oakdale,  Balch & Crosby, Oakdale & Crosby) Oversee street traffic and pedestrian flow to help with safety outside the venue. Counts people coming in, hands out program, provides directions.

  • ID Checkers (Beer Garden):
    Verify attendee IDs to ensure compliance with age restrictions for beer sales.

  • Care Crew (First Aid, CPR, or BLS certified only please):
    Provide basic first aid and emergency support during the event.

  • Brew Crew (must be 21--pocket park):
    Serve beer  & soda to attendees and ensures responsible alcohol distribution.

  • Roadie (two stages this year!):
    Help bands with equipment setup, stage preparation, and any needs they may have during the event.

  • Wonderfest Vendor Guide:
    Step into the heart of Wonderfest! As a Vendor Guide, you’ll support our local makers and help festivalgoers discover the weird and wonderful treasures of West Hill. From setup to smiles, you’ll make sure the vendor experience runs smoothly and the energy stays vibrant.

  • Pumpkin Painting Pros (Oakdale):
    Assist attendees in painting and decorating pumpkins while ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

  • Info & Inventory (WHNO Booth near the pocket park):
    Manage sales of event-related merchandise to attendees. Provides attendees with event information, directions, and assistance as needed.

  • Raffle Table:
    Help us run the raffle table! Volunteers will sell tickets, answer questions, and keep things moving smoothly. A fun way to chat with festival-goers and support the event.

  • Free Art Workshop:
    Help us host the Free Art Workshop! Volunteers set up supplies, greet participants, help guide projects, and tidy between sessions. No teaching experience needed—just a friendly, creative vibe.

  • Cleanup Champions (pocket park):
    Honestly? This is one of the most important volunteer positions on the list. At the end of the day we need fresh hands to help clean up. Assist in dismantling and packing up equipment, booths, and infrastructure after the event ends.

  • After you click Submit, you will receive an email confirmation, along with a link to edit your volunteer schedule. We'll also send you a contact number for coordination and any quesitons you might have. 

    When you show up for your shift, be sure to check in with Adelina at the main table. Each volunteer gets 2 drink tokens, a free hand-dyed/hand printed bandana and a Wonderfest 2025 t-shirt with our new super cool Wonderfest logo!
