Vessel Manager Crewing
About the role
The VM Crewing is responsible for the day-to-day management of vessel crewing,- ensuring safe, compliant, and effective operations in close cooperation with the Operations Team and our international Crew Agents.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and collective bargaining agreements
- Instruct and advice crew agents and crew onboard
- Develop and maintain crew rotation schedules aligned with operational needs and contractual obligations
- Lead the recruitment of qualified seafarers in accordance with internal policies/procedures and standards
- Drive the development and implementation of Marine HR procedures
- Promote a positive, inclusive onboard culture and strong ship-shore collaboration
- Oversee third-party crew providers to ensure service delivery in line with contractual agreements and Marine HR standards
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on crew status, KPIs, and compliance
- Collaborate closely with HSEQ, Technical, and Operations departments
Key qualifications we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree, but relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education
- Minimum 5 years of experience in crewing operations for vessels
- Strong working knowledge of STCW, MLC 2006, and flag state requirements
- Experience in developing HR procedures and crew-related policies
- Solid understanding of cost control and budgeting within marine operations
- Strong language skills (English mandatory - Norwegian preferred)
