The Meow Maid - Adoption Application

We are committed to matching each cat with the right family and ensuring they find a loving, permanent home. To support this goal, our adoption application includes a number of important questions as part of our screening process. Please take the time to read this page thoroughly before completing your application.

All of our adoptable cats are spayed or neutered, dewormed, treated for fleas, tested for FIV and FeLV, vaccinated, and microchipped.

The adoption fee is $130 for adult cats, $185 for kittens or $360 for two kittens. This fee helps cover the veterinary care mentioned above and supports our ongoing rescue efforts.

Adoption fees are tax deductible donations, not purchase prices.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, and the person submitting the application must be the primary caregiver for the cat or kitten.

As part of our adoption process, we will contact both a personal and a professional reference. If you currently have pets or have had pets recently, we also require a reference from your veterinarian. Additionally, proof that all current pets are spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations is required.

We will conduct a brief home visit to ensure a safe environment, checking for secure windows with screens and the absence of potentially toxic plants.

Please note that we are a Buffalo, NY-based independent rescue. Applicants must reside in or near the area.

As a small volunteer-run rescue, we strive to respond to applications as quickly as possible. Please remember to check your spam folder when looking for our emails.

We’ll also provide important information on cat-proofing your home, as well as food and litter recommendations and preferred veterinarians in the area.
