The Meow Maid - Adoption Application

We are committed to finding the best possible match for each cat and ensuring they are placed in loving, lifelong homes. Our application is designed to help us learn more about you, your household, and your lifestyle so we can make thoughtful, responsible matches.

Our goal is not to find “perfect” adopters, but to find the right fit for both the cat and the family.

- All cats and kittens adopted through The Meow Maid are spayed or neutered, dewormed, treated for fleas, tested for FIV and FeLV, age-appropriately vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption.
  
  The cats featured here are part of my independent rescue efforts in the Buffalo area. In addition to running The Meow Maid cat care service, I personally foster, rehabilitate, and rehome cats in need.
- Adoption fees are $130 for adult cats, $185 for kittens, and $350 for a pair of kittens. These fees help offset veterinary care and daily expenses and support ongoing rescue efforts.
  
  FIV+ cats are adopted at the standard adult cat adoption fee. FIV is not a barrier to a healthy, happy life in an indoor home, and these cats are placed under the same adoption standards as all cats.
- Applicants must be 18+ and the primary caregiver. We contact two references, and if you currently have or recently had pets, a veterinary reference is required. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on routine veterinary care.
  
  I personally deliver all adopted cats to their new homes and complete a brief home visit at that time.

  If you decide to move forward, you will complete an adoption application review process. Approved applicants may place the cat on hold for up to 48 hours before finalizing adoption.
- All adoptions include a home visit and delivery of the cat. If your application is approved, Melissa, owner of The Meow Maid, will personally bring the cat to your home and complete a brief home visit to help ensure a safe and comfortable transition for the cat.
  
  All members of the household, including roommates and children, must be present during the home visit.

  Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee adoption. We carefully review each application to ensure the best possible match for both the cat and the adopter. Adoptions are not first-come, first-served, and we reserve the right to decline any applications.
