The Jim & Becky Rooks After School Activity Grant

Students can utilize this program, made possible by generous support of the Rooks family, to help cover registration fees, equipment purchases, or travel. The goal of the program is to promote student participation within art, sport, or educational activities. Inspired by the positive impact of afterschool activities on their lives, Michelle, Mikel, Rob, and Jim Rooks set out to create a program that would give every child the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop community connections. The program also honors the legacy of their parents, Jim and Becky Rooks. All TCSD #1 students can apply for funding through this grant with a referral from any TCSD#1 staff member. Students must exemplify a passion for the activity/program they want to explore and briefly describe their need. Award amounts vary depending on activity specifics with a $200 maximum.
