Members of Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) at Riverwood are invited to participate in our Member Theme Shows. Each exhibit gives emerging and established VAM artists, the opportunity to exhibit their work.
Mystical Arcana Tarot

October 27 - November 2

Unleash your creativity in this immersive mixed media workshop where art meets the mystical world of tarot – our VAM Member Theme Show for Fall. Whether you're an experienced artist or a beginner, you'll explore the rich symbolism of tarot cards to create a unique, personal tarot card painting. Discover the meanings behind key tarot cards and how to incorporate their powerful archetypes along with personal meaning and symbolism into your artwork. Experiment with acrylics, watercolours, pastels, and collage to create texture, depth, and dimension in your painting.

Terms of Entry
- Adult members (18 years +) may enter one piece only in each exhibit.
- The work must be original and recent.Submissions must follow theme that is inspired by a tarot card for this exhibition.
- Submissions must be 2-dimensional. Submissions can be any medium.
- Canvas artwork size must be 16 x 20 for this particular exhibition.
- A 10% administration fee will apply to sales processed by VAM. Sales can only be processed used during administrative office hours, Monday-Friday from 9 am-4:30 pm, Saturday and Sundays from 10 am-4 pm.
- Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) is registered with CRA for HST and is obligated to charge HST when applicable. HST will be added on all Art Sales managed through VAM as an “Agent”, including the commissions noted above.*
- When the “Vendor” or Artist is registered for HST, please provide your HST number on the attached form. VAM will submit all HST received on the sale to the Vendor. The Vendor will then remit this HST to CRA.*
- When the “Vendor” or Artist is not obligated to register for HST, VAM is required to remit all HST received on the sale of Artwork/Product to CRA.*
- An e-transfer for the sales processed minus 10% will be issued to the artist within three weeks of the exhibition.
- VAM does not take commission for artwork sold.
- At intake upon delivery, each piece must be exhibition-ready and properly wired by the artist (wiring must be attached) or have d-rings or eye-hooks attached. Works with poor wiring, or fauly hooks will not be accepted.
- VAM at Riverwood reserves the right to decline a submission deemed unsuitable for the exhibit: this includes work not dry; insecurely or improperly framed; work created with assistance, reproductions, or copies of another’s artwork (including instructor’s demos), works that are hateful, violent, or disrespectful and works inappropriate for our mixed-aged viewers.
- VAM at Riverwood will not be responsible for works during drop off, pick up, or those left after the pick-up date.
- The Exhibits will be on display in The VAM Gallery for the duration of the show. For more information, please contact exhibits@visualartsmississauga.com
