    Gaza Solidarity Fast

    CALL TO ACTION
  • This summer, we watched an entire people being starved to death. It’s only getting worse in Gaza. Our elected officials, with our tax money, are aiding and abetting every phase of the ongoing genocide, and our institutional leaders are dreaming up new ways of shutting down our voices of opposition. We must continue our solidarity efforts. NYU FSJP and NYU SJP invite you to join us (NYU Students, Staff, and Faculty) in a weekly one-day solidarity fast starting on October 8 (and continuing thereafter on Wednesdays for the rest of the semester).

All personal data entered below is confidential, will be stored on an encrypted site and viewed only by 2-3 core organizers, and will be deleted permanently once you have been added to communications listserv.

  •
  • Why We Fast

    • because people in Gaza are dying everyday as a result of engineered-famine and genocide
    • because Israel is preventing humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza
    • to stand in material and spiritual solidarity with the people of Gaza
    • to educate ourselves and our community about starvation as a weapon of war
    • to demand that the US stop arming Israel
    • to demand that NYU disclose financial involvement with Israel and divest from from occupation and genocide.

    How to Participate

    1. Fast every Wednesday beginning October 8 from sunrise to sunset.
    2. Donate funds that would otherwise be spent on meals directly to medical and food aid in Gaza through our fundraiser. If on a meal plan, donate dining hall meals to local mutual aid distribution.
    3. Gather, Study, Act. There will be a central location (to be announced) for gathering throughout each fast day for education, comraderie, and peaceful solidarity actions.
    4. Share your action as you go about your classes and work, through social media posts, buttons, stickers, and signs. Wear white on fast days.

The purpose of this sign up form is to keep count of participants and collect contact information for follow-up communications exclusively about this campaign. All personal data entered above is confidential, will be stored on an encrypted site and viewed only by 2-3 core organizers, and will be deleted permanently once you have been added to communications lists.
