Denali is often underestimated. Why? Because at 20,310 ft (6,190 m) and sitting close to the Arctic Circle, its latitude, weather, and remoteness define the experience. That combination makes it climb more like an 8,000m peak.
Add to that 20+ days on the mountain with no outside support and the need to be fully self-sufficient, and you begin to see why Denali is considered one of the hardest of the Seven Summits (if not the hardest). It’s not just about strength; it’s about skills, systems, mindset, and the way you operate as part of a team.
Our CTSS Denali Readiness Test will help you measure where you stand across the six areas that matter most: fitness and endurance, technical skills, previous climbing experience, expedition mindset, gear systems, and your No D*ckheads factor.
