• Chisholm Leaders Application

    2026-2027 Admissions Cycle
  • The Chisholm Leadership Program is offered to high school and college students in the United States. Participants will engage in an intense six-week program consisting of workshops, lectures, and small conversations with leaders who are on the front lines of protecting democracy.

    Participants are called "delegates". Delegates will:

    - meet elected officials

    - campaign officials

    - and community leaders.

     

    Successful completion of this program will result in 30+ community service hours, a certificate, a letter of recommendation, and an official chapter of Protect Our Block established in your community. This program will unite dynamic leaders from across the country who are looking for their opportunity to start something big!

  • Statement on Academic Honesty, Diversity, Integrity: 

    The Chisholm Leaders, a subsidiary program of Protect Our Block, is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and equitable learning environment. We support individuals of all backgrounds, identities, cultures, abilities, and beliefs, and welcome participants from all walks of life. Discrimination, harassment, or hateful conduct of any kind will not be tolerated, whether occurring in person or through virtual platforms, including social media, messaging, or other digital communication. All participants are expected to engage with integrity, respect, and accountability, contributing to a safe and welcoming space for all.

    The Chisholm Leaders and Protect Our Block maintain a strict academic integrity and honesty policy. There is zero tolerance for plagiarism, forgery, fabrication, or misrepresentation of any information related to educational status, academic standing, or personal credentials. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate and permanent voiding of the application or participation, disqualification from all Protect Our Block–affiliated programs and events, and, when appropriate, notification to the applicant’s affiliated school or institution.

     

  • Important Note:

    Impacting all applicants seeking admission into the 2026-2027 program. 

    Transcripts add context regarding your academic preparation to engage in the program. It allows our admission committee to assess your readiness for the rigorous content you will engage with. We want to emphasize that we are not looking for a grade threshold, but for context to build a cohort that is diverse. Grades that are not satisfactory will not harm your application given that it is not included in our inital review process. However, we welcome candidates to add context to their transcript or any other part of their application via the additional information section.

  • Recommendation Letter(s)

  • Reccomendation Letters: Not required, nor expected

    This is an optional component of the application which allows you to add reccomenders who meet the criteria to submit a letter for you. The letter must be submitted by Janurary 23, 2026 at 11:59 pm EST for Cohort 3 applicants and May 1, 2026 for Cohort 4 applicants. 

     

    Recommendation Letters are encouraged, yet optional. Your application will be considered complete without one. You may attach only academic and professional recommendation letters from instructors, professors, teachers, advisors, coaches, and/or authority figures you reported to within the last two years. You may attach a recommender either while applying or after you submit your application via your admissions portal here (which should be activated no more than 48 business hours after you apply).

  • We understand that candidates applying may have a personal statement written for college admissions, job applications, and other fellowships. If you have a personal statement that meets our criteria described below you may submit it in this portion of the application. This portion is not expected, nor required. It will not harm your appliction if you choose to share a personal statement. 

     

    Criteria:

    Must be last edited no more than 12 months ago. 

    Must be no more than 650 words.

    Must be no less than 100 words. 

    Must introduce the candidate and their personal background. 

     

    Candidates are welcome, but not expected to write a new personal statement for the sake of this application. Regardless of if you're submitting a new or reused personal statement, please type(or paste) your statement inthe box below.
