  • Thank you for considering adoption through Mama Rhea Animal Rescue.

    We are located in Hillsborough, NJ and generally adopt within a 2-hour driving range of our location.

    Cats and kittens bring joy, comfort, and companionship, but they also require love, patience, and a lifelong commitment. Before starting this application, please make sure you are ready to welcome a new feline family member into your home.

    If you are ready to adopt, please complete this application as thoroughly as possible. It typically takes about 10 minutes to complete.

    Please Read Before Applying:

    * Kittens under 6 months old are adopted in pairs unless there is already a friendly, compatible cat in the home.
    * Bonded pairs will not be separated, regardless of age.
    * Adoption decisions are based on many factors, including the specific needs of the cat or kitten, the home environment, family compatibility, and other applications received.
    * Because we are a volunteer-run rescue and may receive a high volume of applications, we will reach out only if your application is approved or selected to move forward.
    * An adoption is considered complete only after the adoption agreement has been signed and the adoption fee has been submitted.

    As part of our adoption process, Mama Rhea Animal Rescue requires a veterinary reference check. Please contact your veterinarian and give them permission to speak with Mama Rhea Animal Rescue regarding your current and/or previous pets.

    Our goal is always to place each cat or kitten in the home that is the best fit for their individual needs.

    Please note: We reserve the right to decline any adoption that we feel is not the right match for a cat’s or kitten’s specific needs.

  • I understand that Mama Rhea Animal Rescue is not able to guarantee the health or temperament of any cat, as many cats come in with unknown histories. There are traits that could change upon adoptions and I take responsibility to care for and address these issues if they do arise*
  • I understand that anything could happen in life, and if I find that I am no longer able to care for my adopted cat, I agree to contact Mama Rhea Animal Rescue by phone and/or email to discuss return/or need for help of the adopted animal*

  • I attest that the cat I am adopting is for me, in my home, and NOT a gift for anyone*
  • I understand that I am responsible for paying for all follow-up vaccines, wellness visits & medical procedures my pet will require in the future.*
