Event Rules, Terms, and Conditions
By submitting your registration or attending this event, you agree to and are bound by the following comprehensive rules, terms, and conditions established by the Pasefika Roots Institute of Language and Cultural Arts. These provisions are essential for maintaining a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment for all youth and families.
1. Conduct and Safety
- Code of Conduct: This is a Family-Friendly, Formal, and Professional Event. All attendees are required to behave respectfully, act in a manner appropriate for a professional setting, and adhere to a suitable dress code.
- Zero Tolerance Policy: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of violence, hate speech, discrimination, harassment, bullying, or illegal activity.
- Substance Use: The consumption or possession of alcohol and illegal drugs is strictly prohibited on the premises. No exceptions will be made. Furthermore, any individual attending or entering the event while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs will be immediately removed.
- Compliance: All attendees must respect and comply with the directions and instructions provided by the official Event Staff and Volunteers.
2. Event Location and Property
- Venue Respect: The event is being held on the Alaska Pacific University (APU) Campus. Attendees must show respect for APU property, students, staff, and faculty at all times.
- Designated Event Areas: For your safety and to respect the campus environment, attendees must remain within the designated event areas during all scheduled activities.
- Personal Responsibility: Attendees are solely responsible for the supervision of their children, as well as the security and safekeeping of all personal belongings and possessions.
- Food Service: All food and beverages provided during the event will be managed as self-service.
3. Media and Intellectual Property
- Media Release: Attendees acknowledge that the Pasefika Roots Institute of Language and Cultural Arts will be taking photographs, recording video, and live-streaming portions of the event.
- Waiver of Rights: By attending, you irrevocably waive any and all rights to compensation, royalties, or ownership related to any photographs, video recordings, or other media captured at the event. All such media are and shall remain the exclusive property of the Pasefika Roots Institute of Language and Cultural Arts.
4. General Authority, Liability, and Modifications
- Right of Refusal: The Pasefika Roots Institute of Language and Cultural Arts reserves the right to deny admission or remove any individual from the event at any time for any reason, including but not limited to, violations of these Rules, Terms, and Conditions.
- Health, Safety, and Emergency Protocols: In the event of a medical emergency, attendees must immediately notify an Event Staff or Volunteer. Event organizers reserve the right to seek medical assistance on behalf of any attendee if deemed necessary. Attendees are responsible for managing their own medical conditions, allergies, and necessary medications. If you or your child are feeling unwell, we request that you refrain from attending the event.
- Limitation of Liability: The Pasefika Roots Institute of Language and Cultural Arts and the venue (Alaska Pacific University) are not responsible for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property or possessions that may occur during the event. By attending, you agree to assume all risks associated with your participation and waive any claims against the event organizers, staff, volunteers, and the venue related to such loss or injury.
- Right to Modify or Cancel Event: The organization reserves the right to make necessary modifications to the event schedule, program, or venue at any time without prior notice. The organization also reserves the right to cancel the event; in such a case, liability will be limited to a refund of the ticket price, if applicable.
Enforcement and Acknowledgement
Failure to comply with any of these Rules, Terms, and Conditions will result in immediate removal from the event premises, and authorities may be contacted.
