WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

In case of risk of injury while participating in the Cheer Competetion, I hereby, for myself,my team, school, or organization, knowingly and voluntarily enter into this waiver and release of liability, and hereby waive aby and all rights, claims or causes of action of any kind arising out of our participation in the activity. And do hereby release and discharge Fort Dorchester Youth Patriots and West Ashley Jr Wildcats Organizations, their directors, coaches, and volunteers of any physical or physhological injury, including but no limited to illness, paralysis, death, damages-emotional and economincal loss, that I may suffer as a direct result of my participation in the activity, including traveling to and from the related activity. We are participating in this activity at our own risk, and are fully aware of the risks associated with this activity.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each category and a CASH PRIZE!
BATTLE OF THE BOWS RULES

Pom Poms with a Twist:

. Music Rules

    •    Only clean music is permitted.

    •    Songs and mixes must be free of profanity, slurs, and explicit or adult content.

    •    Music must be submitted to staff before the event, (email battleofthebowsshowdown@gmail.com).

    •    Remixes and custom edits are allowed, but all content must remain appropriate.

SIDELINE CHEER

Time & Format

    •    Maximum of 3 cheers per team.

    •    Total performance time: 1 minute 30 Seconds (90seconds) maximum.

    •    Cheers may be performed back-to-back or with short pauses between each.

    •    No music is allowed during sideline cheer performances

🚫 DON’Ts

❌ Music, stunts, or tumbling — this division is strictly sideline-based (no dance breakouts)

FACE TO FACE CHEER BATTLE

Teams will face each other during their cheer but must stay on their side of the line.

    •    No crossing into another team’s space, blocking, or surrounding another team.

    •    Facial expressions, sass, and gestures are encouraged — but no touching, crowding, or invading space.

Language & Phrases

    •    “Battle talk” is allowed as long as it’s playful, not personal.

✅ Examples Allowed:

    •    “You talk too much, shhh!”

    •    “Huh? What? Oh, shut up!”

    •    “We came to win!”

    •    “Y’all can’t top this!”

🚫 Not Allowed:

    •    Direct insults like “you’re weak,” “you’re trash,” “you lost,” or profanity.

    •    Judges will evaluate the tone and delivery.
