PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Please provide a concise, clear summary of your project. What is the problem or need you have identified, and how will your project address it?
BENEFICIARY AND IMPACT: Explain in detail how this project will directly benefit the Park Ridge Park District and the community. How will the project improve the park or provide value to park visitors?
RATIONALE: Why did you choose this specific project and this specific park?
Long-Term Viability and Maintenance
MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION:
List all major materials to be used (e.g., type of wood, fasteners, paint, plants).
Are the materials durable and suitable for outdoor use in an Illinois climate? (e.g., pressure-treated wood, weather-resistant paint).
LONG-TERM PLAN:
Describe who will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the project after it is completed.
If the project requires routine upkeep (e.g., weeding, mulching, staining), please describe the tasks and how often they'll need to be done.
Will the Park District need to allocate staff time or budget for this maintenance? If so, please provide an estimated time commitment or cost.
LONGEVITY:
What is the expected lifespan of this project? How long do you anticipate it will last before needing major repairs or replacement?
SUSTAINABILITY:
Does your project use sustainable materials or practices? For example, using recycled materials, native plants, or water-efficient design.
LOGISTICS AND SAFETY:
SAFETY PLAN: Describe your plan for ensuring the safety of all volunteers. This should include specific measures for dealing with tools, weather conditions, and potential injuries.
SCHEDULE: Provide a proposed timeline for the project, including a start and end date. Be sure to account for potential weather delays.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: What tools and equipment will be used? Are there any tools that might require specialized training or adult supervision?
PERMITS AND UTILITIES: Will the project require any permits (e.g., building, electrical, plumbing)? Will you need to call JULIE (Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators) to locate underground utilities before digging?
