Failure to comply may result in immediate termination of any assignment, removal from the roster, or termination of contactor and/or subcontractor agreements.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE FOLLOWING RULES & REGULATIONS AND CODE OF CONDUCT & ETHICS ARE APPLICABLE TO ANY AGREEMENT, SERVICE OR OTHERWISE RELATIONSHIP WITH AURUS SECURITY. BY AGREEING TO THESE, YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD ALL OF THE BELOW RULES AND CODES AND HAVE TAKEN TIME TO CONSIDER THE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS IMPORTANT DECISION. 1. General Rules & Regulations
1.1 Licensing & Compliance
- All guards providing services in Florida for Aurus must possess valid State of Florida Class D Security License (and Class G if armed).
- All independent contractors and subcontractor companies must maintain all required state, federal, and local licenses and insurance.
- Guards and subcontractors must comply with all Aurus policies and client-specific regulations.
1.2 Appearance & Uniform
Aurus maintains two standard professional outfits for independent contractor guards:
All-Black Suit Outfit
Must include: black suit jacket, black dress pants, black dress shoes, white dress shirt, and black tie. This outfit is not provided by Aurus. Independent contractor guards are responsible for acquiring and maintaining their own suit in presentable condition.
Aurus Uniform Outfit
When required, Aurus will issue the official Aurus uniform to the guard. Uniforms must be kept clean, pressed, and returned when requested or upon termination of assignment. Guards are responsible for maintaining all issued items in good condition. Loss or damage may result in replacement fees.
Uniform & Grooming Standards (Applicable to Both Outfits):
Guards must maintain a clean haircut; beards must be neatly trimmed if worn. No jewelry is permitted other than a wristwatch and wedding band. Only the United States flag may be displayed by means of a small pin or patch on uniforms or attire. All other country flags, political symbols, or non-approved accessories are prohibited. No branded belts (logos, designer insignias, or non-standard belt buckles) are permitted. Proper grooming and hygiene are mandatory. Guards must wear Aurus-issued identification only when applicable and specified by Aurus.
1.3 Conduct on Assignment
Guards must be on site, already parked, fully dressed in the required outfit, and completely ready to work at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start of their shift.
Guards arriving more than 5 minutes after the scheduled start of their shift will have 0.5 hours of pay deducted.
Guards arriving 30 minutes or more late will have a full hour of pay deducted in addition to being subject to disciplinary action or replacement.
Absolutely no sleeping, inattentiveness, or use of personal phones/devices unless authorized.
De-Escalation Policy:
Guards must prioritize de-escalation in all situations involving potential conflicts or disturbances. Physical intervention or use of force is only permitted when all reasonable attempts at verbal or non-physical resolution have failed and the situation requires immediate action to protect life or property. De-escalation techniques include calm communication, maintaining safe distance, active listening, and seeking supervisor or law enforcement assistance when appropriate.
Zero-Tolerance Policies:
Drugs & Alcohol
The use, possession, or influence of illicit drugs, controlled substances, or alcohol while on duty is strictly prohibited.
Violation results in instant termination and forfeiture of all pay for that assignment.
Aurus reserves the right to pursue legal action against the guard and/or subcontractor company.
Sexual Harassment
Aurus has a strict zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment of any kind. Any substantiated case results in instant termination and forfeiture of all pay, with potential legal action.
Racial Discrimination
Aurus strictly prohibits racial discrimination of any kind. Any substantiated case results in instant termination and forfeiture of all pay, with potential legal action. Guards must remain at assigned posts unless otherwise directed.
1.4 Bathroom & Break Policy
Guards must use radios (when provided) to communicate with the supervisor or appropriate staff before taking any bathroom, water, or food break. Guards may never leave their assigned position unattended without explicit approval from the supervisor.
In some assignments, the supervisor may be roving; in such cases, guards must wait for the supervisor to come to them and approve the break before leaving their post.
Failure to follow this policy may result in disciplinary action and/or removal from the assignment as well as exposure to legal liability and potential damages.
