  • I understand that Tabernacle Christian School does not discriminate in its employment practices against any person because of race, color, national or ethnic origin, gender, age or disability. I further understand that TCS operates as a private, Christian school and relies upon scriptural principles contained in both the Old Testament and New Testament of the Bible to make determinations related to employment decisions and procedures.

I hereby certify the facts set forth in this initial application are true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I authorize Tabernacle Christian School to investigate references, work records, evaluations, education, Christian testimony, and other matters related to my suitability for employment. I authorize references and my former employers to disclose to the school any and all employment records, performance reviews, letters, reports, and other information related to my life and employment, without giving me prior notice of such disclosure.

Since I will be working with children, I understand that I must submit to a fingerprint and background check. I understand this is only an application for employment and no employment contract is being offered at this time.

I certify I have carefully read and do understand the above statements.

  • Code of Ethics

Employees of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Christian School, and Early Learning Center (faculty, staff, summer camp counselors), may be faced with situations where, either directly or indirectly, the effectiveness and testimony of the school, center, and/or church could be compromised. This code, in keeping with Scriptural principles and educational policies, is provided for guidance.
  • I. EMPLOYEE - EMPLOYEE/VOLUNTEER RELATIONSHIPS

    1. Remember that other teachers, faculty, and/or staff have been called by God to share in this ministry.
    2. Employees should hold each other up in prayer while laboring together with Him.
    3. Never discuss another coworker's faults with anyone except the coworker himself or the administration.
    4. Avoid any comment that would belittle another person or weaken his ministry.
    5. If approached with a complaint about a coworker, always assume that the teacher is correct and refer the complaint to the coworker hiself or to the administrator.
    6. Do not interfere between another teacher and child in matters such as behavior or discipline.

  • II. EMPLOYEE/VOLUNTEER - PARENT RELATIONSHIPS

Parents have the God-given responsibility and authority to direct the child. Teachers are entrusted by parents to assist in that role.
Respect the fact that a private Christian education requires a considerable financial investment from the parents.
While talking to parents, observe extreme caution not to reveal information considered confidential (e.g. faculty decisions, behaviors, etc.). This is extremely important if the parents are friends or family members.

  • III. EMPLOYEE/VOLUNTEER - STUDENT RELATIONSHIPS

    1. A teacher's calling is that of a leader and example. Children should be encouraged to seek guidance, but they should not be considered a "buddy". Teachers and staff should be impartial with all students.
    2. Employees or volunteers must not engage in any practice that would intentionally harm a child emotionally, sexually, or physically.
    3. Avoid discussing matters relating to an individual student with anyone except the parents and those concerned with his welfare in a professional capacity.
  • IV. EMPLOYEE/VOLUNTEER - SCHOOL RELATIONSHIPS

    1. God's work requires wholehearted support and prayer.
    2. Observe professional courtesy by using the correct chain of command for official buisness.
    3. Employees considering a change in employment should discuss this with the administration before making the decision public information.
    4. It is unethical for employees to make arbitrary decisions which conflict with existing school policies.
    5. Teachers are encouraged and expected to continue their professional development.
    6. Employees should not engage in outside employment without prior approval from the administration.
  • WHEN IN DOUBT, CHECK WITH THE ADMINISTRATION.

  • V. EMPLOYEE - CHURCH RELATIONSHIPS

    1. Employees are expected to attend all regularly scheduled services and special meetings of their church.
    2. Employees who are not members of Tabernacle Baptist Church are expected to faithfully attend and actively be involved in their local church.
  • VI. COUNSELING GUIDELINES

    1. Employees must be careful to counsel with biblical principles.
    2. Employees must not identify themselves as a professional counselor.
  • VII. CHRISTIAN WORKER'S APPROACH

    1. Knowing that all students are capable of learning they should be encouraged to learn all they can. "It is a sin to do less than your best" should be pointed out. Employees can personally illustrate this principle by doing their best each day.
    2. When children have outburts or misbehaviors, we should not become discouraged or develop an unkind spirit. This attitude can be corrected by the truth, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
    3. We are missionaries. Our work is that of a missionary and servant of Christ.

  • Statement of Faith

  • I believe in the verbal inspiration and authority of the Scriptures. I believe that the Bible reveals God, the fall of man, the way of salvation, and God's plan and purpose in the ages. I believe in the one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe in the deity, virgin birth, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to all mankind by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the meritorious sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Justification is an eternal relationship that can never be broken.

I believe in the personal, imminent return of Jesus Christ.

I believe in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.

I affirm the biblical understanding of sexuality as a gift from God. Purity in singleness and fidelity in marriage between a man and a woman are biblical mandates. Temptations to deviate from these mandates include heterosexual sex outside of marriage and homosexual behavior. Any attempt to alter one's gender by surgery or appearance is in conflict with God's creative design.
