Variety Requirement
Farmers must provide a variety of produce each week, not a single crop only.
Variety may include fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, or flowers.
Crops should rotate with the seasons to ensure freshness and diversity for the community.

Duplicate Product Competition

KTS Farmers Market operates on a no-duplication policy to protect variety and farmer success.
If duplicate or competing crops are identified within the market, Market Management will address the issue directly with the farmer(s) involved.
Management reserves the right to:

Request crop adjustments,

Limit certain items, or

Reassign product offerings in order to maintain balance and fairness.

By signing this application, farmers acknowledge that crop approvals and adjustments are at the discretion of Market Management.
Stipend Eligibility
Only farmers providing a rotating variety of produce will qualify for the stipend.
Farmers must attend a minimum of three markets per month to be considered.
Stipend amounts ($100–$150) are dependent on available funds and are not guaranteed each month.

Farmer must arrive no earlier than 7:30 AM for a 9:00 AM market start.
No vendor setup will be permitted until the Market Manager is on-site.
All Famers must be fully set up by 8:45 AM. Booths must remain open the entire market (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM).
No early breakdowns or vehicle movement will be allowed during market hours.
All canopies must be weighted with a minimum of 25 lbs. per leg (stakes are not permitted).   First Name   Last Name   Signature   

Arrival & Late Policy
Farmer arriving after 8:30 AM will be required to hand-carry all produces from the parking lot and will not allow to drive into the market area.   Signature*   

Compliance Requirements
A valid Certified Producer’s Certificate (CPC) must be on file before a farmer can vend. (Upload required)
Farmers must comply with all Kern County Health Department regulations and any inspections requested by the County or Market Manager.
All produce must be grown, harvested, and handled in accordance with state agricultural codes.
Safety Requirements
Farmers must set up and break down under Market Manager supervision.
Booths, canopies, tables, and displays must be secure and weighted properly to withstand wind.
Any use of vehicles, trailers, or equipment during setup/breakdown must be done with caution and follow Market Manager instructions.
Farmers must maintain a clean, sanitary booth at all times.
All walkways must remain clear for customers and emergency access.
Any hazardous conditions (spills, broken equipment, unsafe displays) must be reported to Market Management immediately.
Insurance
Proof of liability insurance is required for all farmers.
Code of Conduct
Professional, respectful behavior toward customers, vendors, and staff is required.
Disruptive, unsafe, or aggressive conduct will result in removal from the market.

No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or illegal activity inside the market.
Farmers are responsible for cleaning their space and hauling away trash.
Disrespectful or disruptive behavior may result in removal form the market
Farmers are responsible for leaving their booth area clean and free of trash.
All trash must be hauled away by vendors; market trash bins are for customer use only.
Pets Policy: No pets are permitted in farmers booths, except service animals.”
Photography Permission: Farmers consent to photos/videos of their booth and products being used for KTS Farmers Market marketing purposes.
