This form is for the purpose of registering an interest in the JPSS Soccer Academy for 2026. We are accepting forms for students who will be in years 7 - 12 and will be hosting trials on Wednesday 26th November for students in year 6 and 7. The trials kicking off at 3:45pm until 4:30pm in the JPSS Gym (along Mary Elie Street). Please bring futsal shoes (or sneakers if you don't have futsal shoes) and a bottle. If you are an existing Soccer Academy player in years 7-12 you will not be required to attend trials, however you must still complete this form to remain eligible for 2026. All current year 6 and also year 7 students who were not in the Soccer Academy in 2025 are encouraged to attend the trials. If you are unable to attend these trials, please still complete this form to declare your interest. We do recommend that any hopeful players in year 6 and 7 to attend this trial to maximise their chance of selection, though there will also be observations made at the Taste of High School soccer carnvial hosted in the following week for year 6's into year 7. Students who are currently in year 8, 9, 10 or 11 and were not in the Academy in 2025 are only required to submit this registration of interest form and will not be required to attend any trials.
The criteria for selection will be based on a player's ability (passing, control, dribbling, shooting, awareness, teamwork, communication), behaviour and effort. If required, we will contact school teachers to discuss their school attendance and general character.
Please understand that although the selection process is difficult for selectors, we do encourage any players who are not successful to persist with soccer as JPSS would like to provide a non-academy school soccer team for 2026.
