Fair Play Coaching Contract

In an effort to promote fair play and sportsmanship during league play, the Cornwall Indoor Soccer League is requesting that every coach make every effort possible to adhere to the following:

All players are to get equal playing time.
Because we are a recreational League we would like the coaches to encourage all their players regardless of caliber or skill level.
Lead by example by not criticizing the referees.
Let the circumstances determine your method of coaching. By this we mean that if your team is leading by a considerable margin, coach accordingly by either giving your weaker players the opportunity to play forward, encouraging your team to make more passes, placing your stronger players in a defensive position, and so on. Wining a game by an extreme margin (7 or more goal difference) does not teach your players sportsmanship and does nothing to promote the game.
If a team is short a player (one less than the normal number of players on the field) we request that the opposing team play with the same number of player depending on the circumstances. Using good judgment based on the caliber of the players present can also be a determining factor. Under no circumstances are teams permitted to play fewer than the predetermined number of players, unless one team is short a player. If a team is short more than 1 player from the predetermined number for that division the game will be considered a forfeit.
Only players and coaches are permitted on the benches. This must be enforced for liability reasons. Should a player require a parent for any reason we would suggest sending the child to see the parent on the bleachers.
