Washington has established a Student Engagement Taskforce to assess current situations and develop strategic recommendations to enhance the support, welcome, engagement, and growth focus of agricultural education and FFA in Washington State. Our vision, mission, and values guide our work.
Opportunity:
During the 2025-2026 school year, we will elect two positions. One position will be elected for a 1-year term, and one position will be elected for a 2-year term. Each year, we will open one 2-year term. We encourage seniors to apply for the 1-year term, and all others to apply for the 2-year term.
Requirements to be a student representative on the taskforce:
- Be an active high school FFA member
- Have been an FFA member for at least one year
- Have participated in at least two FFA events above the chapter level
- Have a deep commitment to growing Washington FFA to be a more supportive, welcoming, engaging, and growth-focused organization
Commitment to serve as a taskforce student representative:
- Fulfill your designated term for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school year.
- Attend four taskforce meetings during the year - meetings will be held virtually (meeting dates will be set by the taskforce once student representatives are selected)
- Provide feedback and insight on proposals through email or other forms of written communication
- Uphold the FFA Code of Conduct
To apply to be a student representative, please complete the application by Friday, October 17, 2025. As part of the application, please include a letter of recommendation from your FFA advisor and have you and your parent/guardian sign off on the agreement provided in the application. Students will be notified if they have been selected for an interview by Michael Ramirez-Martinez, Engagement Taskforce Member, and interviews will be held virtually from November 6-10.
