Washington FFA Engagement Taskforce Student Member Application

Washington has established a Student Engagement Taskforce to assess current situations and develop strategic recommendations to enhance the support, welcome, engagement, and growth focus of agricultural education and FFA in Washington State. Our vision, mission, and values guide our work.

Opportunity:

During the 2026-2027 school year, we will elect two positions. Both positions will be elected for a 2-year term. Each year, we will open two 2-year terms, and select two new students for a total of four that will rotate off after their two year term.

Requirements to be a student representative on the taskforce:

Be an active high school FFA member
Have been an FFA member for at least one year
Have participated in at least two FFA events above the chapter level
Have a deep commitment to growing Washington FFA to be a more supportive, welcoming, engaging, and growth-focused organization

Commitment to serve as a taskforce student representative:

Fulfill your designated term for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school year.
Attend four taskforce meetings during the year - meetings will be held on a bi-monthly basis during the school year using a virtual format.
Utilize my own student Zoom account to attend meetings as a member of the taskforce.
Provide feedback and insight on proposals through email or other forms of written communication
Uphold the FFA Code of Conduct

To apply to be a student representative, please complete the application by Friday, October 16, 2026. As part of the application, please include a letter of recommendation from your FFA advisor and have you and your parent/guardian sign off on the agreement provided in the application. Students will be notified if they have been selected for an interview by November 6. Interviews will be held virtually on November 12 with the FFA Engagement Taskforce members. New students selected to serve on the taskforce will attend their first meeting on December 10 and will participate in a brief onboarding meeting prior to that.
