Call for Art - Deadline October 26
  • SEABA, along with Director, Christy Mitchell, are seeking artwork for a group exhibition titled, 'Freshly Cut'. Known locally in Burlington for her conceptual solo shows in the fall, Christy is inviting artists into the exhibition with a group show.

The prompt encourages you to explore floral themes in your work in any style, medium, and scale you wish. Installations, sculptures, projections, paintings, illustrations, photography are all welcome.

Conceptual artwork as a movement became popular in the 1960's and asks the viewer to see beyond the aesthetic value and physical form or medium of the piece and search for the idea behind the work.

What story can you tell with flowers? Flowers have appeared in artwork throughout time and reference countless emotions, the fleetingness of life, or simply to admire beauty.

The theme is open to your interpretation! Submit 1-3 pieces for consideration in this curated show. Work will be selected and shown in Burlington, Vermont at a SEABA location, opening with a reception on First Friday, November 7th, 2025.

Work is not guaranteed to be selected, notifications will go out by October 28th, with drop off times to be determined, between November 1 - 5. So prepare work for installation.

Entry Fee, only if work is selected, is $20 (sliding scale available) for food & drinks at the opening reception.

Thank you for sharing your voice through art, good luck!
