The winner of the Jeffrey Hanson Memorial Award - Outstanding Achievement by a Chapter Executive Director receives a $1,000 airline gift card on the carrier of their choice.

Award Description:
The Jeffrey Hanson Memorial Award honors a Chapter Executive Director who has made outstanding contributions to their chapter, members, and the utility construction industry. Nominations should reflect the Executive Director’s leadership capabilities, organizational skills, knowledge of the industry, and active support of NUCA as a national organization representing the utility construction community.

This award honors those Executive Directors who have strengthened collaboration between their chapter, NUCA national, and members, ensuring alignment with shared goals and fostering unity across the association. This award recognizes not only professional excellence, but also the dedication and commitment that inspire members, strengthen the bond between chapters and NUCA National, and advance NUCA’s mission across the country.

Awards are designed to celebrate chapter and member successes, highlight best practices, and inspire innovation across NUCA. The winner will be recognized during the Awards Dinner, Thursday, February 12 in Tucson, AZ.
Guidelines
The nominee must have been a Chapter Executive Director for the entire year during 2025 and employed by a NUCA chapter in good standing. All submissions MUST be received by December 31, 2025, late submissions will not be considered.

Judging
Entries will be reviewed by an anonymous panel ensuring a fair and impartial process. Submissions are judged on chapter and national contributions, impact to the industry, and support of NUCA’s mission, and their ability to lead and demonstrate best practices for others.

Winner Notification Information
Winners will be notified via email by January 10, 2026. Award acceptance and recognition will take place during the Awards Gala at the National Convention in Tucson, AZ on February 12, 2026. Questions on submitting an application? Contact Catie Amsden, catie@nuca.com.

You may submit up to three letters for consideration, alternatively one letter may be signed by multiple members endorsing the Executive Director. The letters should address the contributions made to the current Executive Director. Further, the letters should document leadership capabilities, organizational skills, knowledge of the industry, and support of NUCA as a national organization representing the utility construction community. Special contributions to the effectiveness of the volunteer effort and furtherance of organizational goals should be highlighted.
