    • YDG Values

      Democracy & Voting Rights
I believe democracy only works when every voice is heard and every vote is counted. I will defend the freedom to vote, fight voter suppression and gerrymandering in all forms, and work to ensure that elections remain fair, transparent, and accessible to all people—no matter their background or where they live.

      Racial Justice
I believe racial justice is fundamental to building a fair and free society. I will commit myself to dismantling systemic racism, reimagining systems of safety and accountability, and ensuring meaningful investment in Black, Indigenous, Latine, and other historically excluded communities so that equity becomes the standard, not the exception.

      Economic Justice & Workers’ Rights
I believe everyone deserves the chance to succeed with dignity. I will fight to reduce income inequality, defend the rights of workers to organize and bargain collectively, and work to guarantee safe conditions, fair pay, and economic security for all.

      Immigration Justice
I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. I will fight for a just immigration system that treats all people, regardless of status, with compassion, fairness, and respect, and I will stand against policies that dehumanize or exclude immigrants and their families.

      LGBTQIA+ Equality
I believe everyone deserves to live openly, authentically, and safely. I will fight for full equality for LGBTQIA+ people in employment, housing, health care, education, and public life, and I will oppose discrimination wherever it appears.

      Gender Equality & Reproductive Freedom
I believe gender equality is essential to freedom and justice. I will stand for equal pay, equitable health care access, and the right of every person to make decisions about their own bodies—including the right to safe and legal abortion—without interference or shame.

      Climate Action
I believe the health of our planet is inseparable from the health of our communities. I will fight to confront the climate crisis with urgency, transition to clean and renewable energy, and ensure environmental justice so that all people, not just the privileged few, can thrive in a safe and sustainable world.

      Ending Gun Violence
I believe everyone has the right to feel safe in their schools, neighborhoods, and communities. I will work to address gun violence as the public health crisis it is, and I will fight for common-sense reforms that save lives and protect future generations from preventable harm.

      Future Generations
I believe we carry a responsibility to those who will come after us. I will work to build a society that is livable, thriving, and just—where every new generation inherits a world of greater opportunity, sustainability, and freedom than the one before it.

      Civic Engagement & Leadership
I believe democracy is strongest when people stay involved and raise their voices. I will encourage people of every age to engage in civic life, and I will support and mentor young leaders so that the future of our democracy is always vibrant, inclusive, and resilient.
