The winner of the Chapter Workforce Development Grant receives a $5,000 grant to be used to further fund the chapters career and workforce development initiatives.

The NUCA Chapter Workforce Development Grant Award provides recognition and support to chapters that are making a measurable impact in addressing the industry’s most critical need: a strong and skilled workforce. This award highlights chapters that have successfully implemented programs or events to recruit, train, and promote careers in utility construction—whether through the chapter, partnerships with schools, community outreach, or hands-on training initiatives. By investing in workforce development, these chapters not only strengthen NUCA’s mission but also ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the utility construction industry.

Awards are designed to celebrate chapter and member successes, highlight best practices, and inspire innovation across NUCA. Category winner will be recognized during the Awards Dinner at NUCA National Convention in Miramar Beach, FL from March 9-12.

Guidelines
The chapter workforce development event or initiatives must have taken place between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026 by a chapter in good standing. All submissions MUST be received by January 15, 2027, late submissions will not be considered.

Judging
Entries will be reviewed by an anonymous panel ensuring a fair and impartial process. Submissions are judged on impact, innovation, alignment with NUCA’s mission, and their ability to serve as best practices for others.

Winner Notification Information
Winners will be notified via email by January 30, 2027. Award acceptance and recognition will take place during the Awards Gala at the National Convention in Miramar Beach, FL on Friday, March 12, 2027. Questions on submitting an application? Contact Tom Cullen via email tom@nuca.com.
