There are two tournaments
Rapid Tournament
11am - 17:30pm, 7 rounds of rapid chess with a time control of 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment from move 1. There will be an under 1700 (FIDE & ECF) and an Open section {two sections}.
Schedule:
Round 1: 11:00
Round 2: 11:50
Round 3: 12:40
Round 4: 13:30
Break: 14:20-15:00
Round 5: 15:00
Round 6: 15:50
Round 7: 16:40
Finished by 17:30.
Entry fee: £30
*If you are not a gold or platinum member of the English Chess Federation. There is a £16 surcharge pay to play fee that needs to be paid (select using the donation option below).
Prize fund
Open: 1st £250, 2nd £150, 3rd £100, 4th £50, rating category prize £50
Under 1700: 1st £100, 2nd £50, rating category prize £50
Blitz Tournament
18:30pm - 21:30pm, 9 rounds of blitz chess with a time control of 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment from move 1. There will be one section open to all. The rounds will run one after the next until all nine have been completed (there is no scheduled break).
Entry fee: £20
Prize fund
1st £125, 2nd £75, 3rd £50, 4th £25, rating category prize £25
*Players with a WIM/WGM/IM/GM title get free entry to both tournaments.
*If entering both tournaments, there is a 10% discount {£45 total}.
Bye Requests
Players may request up to 2 half point byes in either tournament. Bye requests made in the last round of both tournaments will be assigned a 0 point bye.
Prizes will be shared in the event of a tie, there are no tiebreaks. The rating prizes may be decided using the W-We

There is an on-site bar that sells alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks as well as toasted sandwiches, omlettes, baguettes etc. Zooz Drinks will be selling their drinks as well!
NB: Please note that outside food/drink is not allowed. Exceptions can be made if communicated and agreed with the organisation in writing beforehand.
Water bottles, light snacks (fruits etc) are fine, but please no take away drinks or meals purchased from outside the venue. This must be consumed outside.
The London Mindsports Centre has a strict no outside food/drink policy.
As the entire venue will be in use for the festival, the only breakout space will be the bar area downstairs. There will be a separate event taking place upstairs and as such, the bar area will likely be busy.
