CALL FOR ARTISTS: CHARMing Art Challenge

ATHICA is calling on our artist community to take part in the CHARMing Art Challenge Fundraiser and help ensure that we can keep providing our essential community platform for artists of all kinds.

All are welcome to join in the CHARMing Art Challenge!
All creatives will have access to the Athens Area Teacher Reuse Store where they can source materials to create anything they desire.
You will have until December 10th (drop-off) to create your unique offering that will be put up for sale for $60 each in order to benefit ATHICA.
You can use any media or approach that pleases you and are not limited in any use or application of the materials. Functionality and disfunctionality are equally welcome.
Maximum dimensions: 3 feet on all sides.
Perks include contributing to the diversion of items from the landfill, directly supporting ATHICA’s continued operations, discounted entry tickets, a purchase coupon, and the chance to win prizes in seven categories, including:
- Best-in-Show: $100 value
- Most Weight Diverted from Landfill: $75 value
- Most Creative: $50 value
- Hometown Hero: $50 value (Athens inspired art)
- I Need That in my Closet: $50 value (Best Wearable)
- I Need That on my Wall: $50 value (Best Hanging/Standing Sculpture)
- Outstanding Young Artist: $25 value (Best under-18 contribution)

Schedule:

October-early December: Pick up materials from the Athens Area Teacher Reuse Store. Check open hours for time to come by. Make art.
December 10: Drop-off artworks
December 13: CHARMing Art Challenge Fundraising event, featuring unique upcycled material-based artworks for sale, prizes, reception, music, and more.

Discounted Event Tickets for Artists

Artists can purchase up to 5 discounted entry tickets to the event through this form only. Tickets for event entry are required, but it is not necessary to purchase a ticket to enter. If you don't want to buy a ticket, please uncheck the box and hit submit. All purchasers will be listed on the event guest list with their names and number of tickets purchased.
