PreK-12 Ageism Awareness Contest: “Future Self”
Students across North Carolina are invited to participate in the Ageism Awareness Contest, expressing their thoughts and creativity about ageism and the value of intergenerational respect. Participants can submit poetry, photography, or other visual art. All students in grades K-12 can enter. Submissions will be grouped by grade levels. Visit our Affording Aging website for flyers for each of the grade level: https://www.ncdhhs.gov/divisions/aging/mpa-all-ages-all-stages-nc/affording-aging. Submissions are being accepted October 2025- February 2026. Submissions can include a short essay or poetry (250-500 words), photography (digital file), or other visual art (photo or scan of artwork), dance/skit/music etc. Winners will receive: featured submission on the DHHS All Ages, All Stages NC website/social media/statewide campaign and gift bag.
