  • The Agreement:

    This Agreement sets out the terms and conditions under which the IQA will undertake internal quality assurance on behalf of the Approved Training Centre in line with Safety Training Awards (STA) and Ofqual regulatory requirements.
  • 1. PARTIES


    This Agreement is made between:

    LAC Training, a Safety Training Awards Approved Training Centre (hereinafter referred to as the “Centre”)

    and

    {name} - {staReference} (hereinafter referred to as the “IQA”)

     

    The IQA Agrees to:

     

    2. IQA RESPONSIBILITIES

    General Duties

    • Undertake internal quality assurance activities in accordance with STA latest specifications and guidance
    • Comply with all the Centre and STA policies and guidance
    • Ensure all activities meet STA and Centre requirements
    • Attend and contribute to mandatory Centre Meetings and Standardisation sessions
    • Complete any update or mandatory training to keep yourself and knowledge up-to-date
    • Remain occupationally competent and maintain continual professional
      development (CPD) in accordance with best practice guidance
    • Always ensure teaching and assessment activities and equipment are safe and
      well maintained, in line with the Centre policies and STA requirements
    • Any accidents must be reported in line with the Centre policies, STA requirements and current legislation
    • Provide a safe environment for all by adhering to Health & Safety legislation
    • Report any events and issues with implementing the assessment procedures,
      suspected malpractice, maladministration, or illegal activity in line with centre
      procedures and Safety Training Awards requirement
    • Maintain secure and confidential handling of learner data and assessment materials

     

    3. QUALITY ASSURANCE

    Help and support the Centre in its quality assurance activities in accordance with the Centre's sampling strategy. Participate in both Internal and External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits when required.

     

    4. STA INSURANCE

    Your STA Insurance must be active at all times whilst working for the Centre. Evidence of active STA Membership must be provided on request or alternatively access granted to share this information via STA Online.

     

    5. REMUNERATION

    IQA's will work on a self-employed basis - It is the IQA’s responsibility to declare earnings to HMRC and to pay any liabilities that my occur. 

    An invoice will need to be presented to LAC Training for payment - Payment will be made by bank transfer.

    Payment of the invoice will be made no later than 28 days once the invoice has been submitted and accepted by LAC Training, subject to satisfactory completion of duties. 

    The remuneration for the work completed for LAC Training will be agreed before the activity takes place and is completed.

     

    6. UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

    Educators should look professional and presentable at all times, both during face-to-face and online training.

    Educators need to be wearing a Centre or STA branded uniform whilst undertaking duties for the Centre. 

    Shoes must be worn during all training sessions.

    Uniforms must be well-maintained, clean, and free from alterations or unauthorised branding.

    When working on poolside an alternative poolside shoe must be worn.  

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used where required and in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines.

     

    7. CONFIDENTIALITY

    Both parties agree to maintain confidentiality over learner information, assessment materials, and any sensitive Centre or STA data. This obligation shall continue after termination/completion of this Agreement.

     

    8. COMPLIANCE

    The IQA agrees to:

    • Provide copies of relevant qualifications when they are updated/renewed or requested by the Centre.
    • Provide Continuous Professional Developement (CPD) records when they are updated or requested by the Centre.
    • Provide Curriculum Vitae (CV) / Personal Statement when they are updated or requested by the Centre.
    • Read both Learner and Team ATC Policies and return the required proof when requested by the Centre.

    9. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

    Conflicts of Interest will be periodically reviewed by the Centre. If you believe that you have a conflict of interest then please declare this to the ATC Co-Ordinator at your earliest opportunity.

  • 10. COMPLETION OF IQA REPORT

    IQA reports (Tutor and Assessors) must be completed and submitted within 2 days of the IQA via STA Online - If this is not possible then this must be discussed with the ATC Co-ordinator before the completion of the course.

    Information for Desk-based sampling and Learner interviews will be supplied to the IQA within 6 days of the completion of the course. The IQA activity must be completed and returned by the 10th day of the completion of the course - If this is not possible then this must be discussed with the ATC Co-ordinator before the completion of the course.
