  • This is a hybrid role, designed to combine remote working with on-site responsibilities. While much of your work can be completed remotely, you will be expected to travel to our sites in Chorley (Lancashire) and Witham (Essex) to conduct inspections, audits, and occasional visits with engineers. Applicants should ideally be located between or within reasonable distance of these sites to allow effective travel. If you live close to one site, there may also be an expectation to work from there periodically.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence, as business travel will form a key part of this role.

It is a requirement that applicants have proven experience with Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems. Formal qualifications are desirable and will strengthen your application. Holding such qualifications will also influence the salary offered within the advertised banding. Training and further professional development will be provided to support the successful candidate where nessasary.

The role carries responsibility for overseeing Health & Safety compliance across the business and ensuring our systems align with ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards. You will be supported by external consultants and local H&S reps, but you will hold responsibility for regulating standards, conducting inspections, and ensuring non-conformances are addressed by managers.

Beyond compliance, this position also plays a vital role in internal communications, ensuring staff are informed, trained, and engaged with policies and requirements. Using our intranet platform, you will maintain a digital footprint of communications, circulate newsletters, and support staff onboarding and inductions. Looking forward, you will also assist the CIO with future digital innovations, including the migration of systems and the introduction of new tools that benefit Quality, Health & Safety, and staff engagement.

This is a varied role that requires independence, attention to detail, and the confidence to influence managers and staff alike. You will be expected to act impartially, focusing on compliance and communication, while being supported by consultants, the CIO, and the wider management team.

We will review all submissions carefully and will contact those candidates we believe are most suitable to arrange an interview.
