Training Information
How do we ethically work with people who hold marginalized identities, especially if we share those identities? In this trainings, we will explore ethical considerations for marginalized identities through an ”ethic of care” lens. We will also highlight parallel processes where both client and practitioner are of the same or similar marginalized identities. This training will meet 2 hours of ethics requirements.
Training Objectives
Identify ways in which the social work code of ethics impacts work with marginalized identities. | Apply the social work code of ethics to real-life experiences working with marginalized identities. | Examine ways in which an ethic of care can be utilized in work with marginalized identities.
Trainer Information
Jackie Anderson-Carter, PhD, LCSW has extensive experience in community programs, academia, and is currently serving as the Clinical Director at Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting. She has supervised people and programs throughout her career and is dedicated to supporting new clinicians and supervisors. She has done extensive training and research on supervision. She also is a professor of social work, even teaching leadership courses and is a sought-after trainer and consultant on supervision and program management.

Participants will receive an evaluation to complete after the program, which will generate their CE certificate. Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting, provider number 2389, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 8/15/25-8/15/26. Social workers completing this course receive 2 Ethics continuing education credits. Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7833. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting is solely responsible for allaspects of the programs.
