    This application is for evaporative cooling, central air, heat pumps, and ductless heat pumps and a smart thermostat if installed with your new HVAC equipment (otherwise, use the other application for smart thermostats).   • TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    Please read the terms below and make sure to fill out the application completely. Incomplete applications may result in a delay in receiving your rebate. 

    • You must be a Logan City Light and Power customer with an account in good standing to receive a rebate.
    • All equipment must be new and installed on, or prior to, the date of the application and after October 1, 2025 in an exisitng home (new construction homes are not eligible for incentive). 
    • All required documents must be submitted online within 180 days of purchase.
    • Item must be installed within 90 days of purchase.
    • Rebates are processed within 8 weeks of application submission.
      • All rebates below $600 are issued as bill credit and will appear on the bill arriving the month after your rebate is processed.
      • Rebates that are more than $600 are processed as a check and you will need to submit a W-9 for tax purposes.
      • If you have applied for more than one rebate in a calendar year and they total more than $600, you willl need to submit a W-9.
      • You can find a blank W-9 using this link: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf.
    • Please make sure to upload a copy of the itemized receipt that indicates the manufacturer, model number, and purchase date on the receipt/invoice. It is very helpful if you can highlight or circle the eligible items on the receipt.
    • If you are a property owner and would like a check mailed to you, please call Emily Malik at 435-716-9792 or email emily.malik@loganutah.gov to make arrangements.
    • Rebates cannot exceed 50% of the total project costs. 
    • Homes qualify for one unit and one thermostat per application. If you are submitting more than one application per dwelling, please notify Emily in advance.

  • DUCTLESS HEAT PUMPS

    • Work must be completed by a HVAC Contractor, do-it-yourself installations are not eligible for rebates.
    • Heat pump must be installed in a fully conditioned living space, garages do not qualify.
    • Gas, oil, wood, pellet stoves, and propane system conversions do not qualify for Electric Resistance Heat Conversion rebates. *For gas-heated homes see supplemental ductless heat pumps information below.
    • Minimum 8.1 HSPF2 / 16 SEER2.
    • Ductless heat pump must be installed according to the specifications outlined in the Utah Technical Specifications Manual.
    • Ductless heat pump must be a new AHRI (Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) rated ductless (mini-split) system and must be listed on the AHRI Certified Directory: ahridirectory.org.
    • Ductless heat pump must employ an inverter driven outdoor compressor unit and a variable speed fan for indoor blower and be fully ductless.

    Additional requirements for single-head ductless, multi-head ductless and ducted heat pumps:

    • Previous primary heat source must have been a permanently installed electric resistance heating system (e.g. electric furnace, electric ceiling/wall heat) serving at least 80% of the home’s conditioned living space.
    • Rebate is not offered to customers replacing an existing ducted heat pump. 

    Additional requirements for supplemental ductless heat pumps:

    • Gas heated homes qualify.
    • Ductless heat pump must be used as a supplemental heat source for cold spots or for a new/bonus room and primary heat source must be in service.

  • Air Source Heat Pumps

  • Requirements for all air source heat pump installations:

    • Work must be completed by an HVAC Contractor, do-it-yourself installations are not eligible for rebates.
    • Tier 1: Minimum 7.5 HSPF2 (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor ), 14.3 SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio).
    • Tier 2: Minimum 8.1 HSPF2, 15.2 SEER2.
    • Tier 3: Minimum 8.5 HSPF2, 16 SEER2 cold climate heat pump on NEEP qualified product list
    • Heat pump must be installed according to the specifications outlined in the Utah Technical Specifications Manual
    • New air source heat pump must be the current primary heat source and must service at least 80% of the home’s conditioned living space.
    • Air source heat pump must be a new, air-source split or packaged unitary heat pump with an AHRI (Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) Standard Rating Cooling Capacity of 65,000 BTU/hr (5.4 tons) or less.
    • Air source heat pump must be listed on the AHRI Certified Directory
    • Homes are eligible for one unit. If a customer is applying for two units or more, please contact us first.

    Additional requirements for heat pump upgrade:

    • Previous primary heat source must have been a permanently installed ducted electric heat pump that served at least 80% of the home’s conditioned living space.

    Additional requirements for heat pump conversion:

    • Previous primary heat source must have been a permanently installed electric resistance heating system (e.g. electric baseboard, electric furnace, electric ceiling/wall heat) serving at least 80% of the home’s conditioned living area.
    • Gas, oil, wood heating, pellet stoves, and propane systems conversions do not qualify.

  • Ground Source Heat Pump

  • Requirements for all ground source heat pump installations:

    • Work must be completed by an HVAC Contractor, do-it-yourself installations are not eligible for rebates.
    • Minimum 3.5 COP and 16 SEER
    • Heat pump must be installed according to the specifications outlined in the Utah Technical Specifications Manual
    • Ground source heat pump must be new and AHRI certified at the time of installation.

    • Previous primary heat source must have been a permanently installed electric heating system (e.g. electric baseboard, electric furnace, or electric ceiling/wall heat).

    • Ground source heat pump must be installed according to specifications outlined in the Utah Technical Specifications Manual.

  • Dual Fuel Heat Pump

  • Requirements for dual fuel heat pump electric & gas conversion:

    • Must be an existing home, not new construction.
    • The previous primary system must have been a permanently installed natural gas or propane ducted system that served at least 80% of the home’s conditioned living space.
    • Oil, wood heating, and pellet stove conversions do not qualify.
    • Work must be completed by a HVAC Contractor, do-it-yourself installations are not eligible for rebates.
    • Dual fuel heat pump with 90 AFUE gas furnace must be a minimum 7.5 HSPF2 and 14.3 SEER2.
    • Dual fuel heat pump with 80 AFUE gas furnace must be a minimum 8.5 HSPF2 and 15.2 SEER2.
    • Dual fuel heat pump must be installed according to the specifications outlined in the Utah Technical Specifications Manual.
    • New dual fuel heat pump must be the current primary heat source and must service at least 80% of the home’s conditioned living space.

    For AHRI rated rebates:

    • Dual fuel heat pump must be a new, air-source split or packaged unitary heat pump with an AHRI (Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) Standard Rating Cooling Capacity of 65,000 BTU/hr (5.4 tons) or less.
    • Heat pump must be listed on the AHRI Certified Directory       

    For non-AHRI rated rebates:

    • Must submit manufacturer specification sheet stating heat pump information or EnergyGuide sticker
    • Systems with AHRI pairings of condenser/coil and or air-handler combinations will only qualify for non AHRI rated rebates

    Additional Required documents:

    • Itemized receipt or contractor invoice. This will need to have the model and make of installed equipment.
    • AHRI certificate, AHRI rated rebates only
    • EnergyGuide sticker or manufacturer specification sheet
