The Australian manufacturer has confirmed that a production run of special 'match quality' ammunition requires a minimum order of 150,000 rounds, with a preferred quantity of 200,000 rounds, at an estimated retail price of AUD $5.30 per round.
The NRAA has determined that this option is not viable due to the minimum volume required and will instead develop a small batch handloading facility to produce match ammunition to the volumes ordered by teams.
To support the development and testing of the final match round design load for the Australia Match and all associated events in 2026, teams are required to confirm their ammunition arrangements and volumes in advance. This information is critical for ordering components and scheduling load development.
Note this is an option for the Australia Match and associated events. It is not mandatory that this round be used in the events. We understand that several teams propose to freight their own handloads.
Design load specification (preliminary)
The intended match round will replicate the Commonwealth Games load and is expected to comprise:
- Berger 155.5 grain projectile
- ADI case
- ADI powder – to be confirmed
- Primers – to be confirmed.
Final specifications will be advised following completion of testing in Q1 2026.
Cost and payment
- Pricing will be confirmed once total volumes are known.
- The volumes submitted will represent a firm commitment to purchase.
- Payment will be required in advance of production.
Please note: limited space is available for visiting teams to carry out handloading at Belmont. There are restrictions on access and on the equipment available.
Australian ADI Factory ammunition is also available for purchase directly through the QStore (on-site gun shop) using Sierra 2155 (155 gr, MatchKing HPBT projectile).
Each team is required to provide the following information:
