Tour of the NS Documentation Center Memorial and the Permanent Exhibition “Cologne under National Socialism”
The NS-DOK serves as a contemporary history museum and memorial, and is the central place for critical engagement with National Socialism in Cologne and the surrounding region. The EL-DE Haus, now a place of remembrance and museum, was the headquarters of the Gestapo secret police from 1935 to 1945 during the Nazi era.
The tour provides an overview of the history of the EL-DE Haus and includes visits to the former prison cells, which today serve as a memorial site, as well as the permanent exhibition “Cologne under National Socialism.” This offers insights into the fates of the victims of National Socialism and the culture of remembrance in Cologne, which is actively preserved and shaped at this location.
