  • We are so excited that you are considering Saint Joseph Academy as your high school. To help you determine all the potential scholarships that you might be eligible for, please review this information carefully. This application must be completed to be considered for any scholarships other than the Visual Arts and Music scholarships, which have their own separate applications. Some information requested on this form pertains to criteria for specific scholarships. This application must be submitted online and is due by Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

    Please review the essay questions thoroughly by reading the PDF version of the scholarship first. Once you start the application process online, you must complete and submit the application; you will not be able to save it and finish it later.

     **Please submit a copy of your MOST RECENT report card to scholarship@sja1890.org.  In the subject line of the email, please enter "Report Card" along with your first and last name.

  • There are several scholarships available that have specific criteria and requirements, as noted below. If you would like to be considered, please complete the following and submit your essays along with the Saint Joseph Academy Common Scholarship Application-Class of 2030.

    Please note that separate applications are required for the Sursum Corda Scholarship, Music Scholarship and Visual Arts Scholarship.

    Please answer questions 1 through 5, limiting each of your responses to 250 words. 

  • Additional Scholarships requiring separate Essays and/or Recommendation Letters

  • The next section includes several scholarships that have specific criteria and requirements. If you would like to be considered, you will need to complete an additional essay and/or submit recommendations letter(s) to scholarship@sja1890.org. You can either type your essay into the text box provided or upload your document directly to your application. Please read the requirements carefully and apply for the scholarships in which you meet the criteria.

    If you do NOT meet the requirements for a particular scholarship, simply hit "NEXT" to go to the next scholarship.

    After completing and/or viewing all the additional scholarships, you will have the opportunity to submit your application on the last page of the form. Please note, your application will NOT be completed and submitted until you click the "SUBMIT" button on the last page of the form.

    You can either upload a copy of your essay in Word or PDF or you can copy and paste your essay directly into the box below. 

    If you are uploading a word or pdf document, please include the following: 

    your full name, name of scholarship and the question you are answering

    Please note:  Google Docs can be converted into PDF's by choosing 'Download' under the File menu in your document.  

  • Holly Banner '98 Endowed Memorial Scholarship Scholarship

    Criteria:
    Must have an interest in writing, maintain a "C" overall grade average and demonstrate financial need as evidenced by the FACTS Grant & Aid application. 

    Requirements:
    Submit a letter of recommendation from one of your current teachers or school principal verifying grade average and interest in writing.  Submit a short essay (no longer than 250 words) describing how you developed an interest in writing and what influence it has had on your life.

  • Nancy Slominsky Charney '77 Endowed Scholarship

    Criteria:
    Must live in a single parent/guardian household, be a resident of the City of Cleveland, maintain a "C" overall grade average and demonstrate financial need as evidenced by the FACTS Grant & Aid application.

    Requirements:
    Submit a short essay (no longer than 250 words) describing your desire for a Saint Joseph Academy education, understanding the sacrifices you and your parent/guardian will make in order for you to attend the Academy.

  • Sister Brigid Griffin, CSJ ’42 Endowed Memorial Scholarship

    Criteria:
    Preference given to resident of Cleveland and must demonstrate financial need as evidenced by the FACTS Grant & Aid application.

    Requirements:
    Submit a short essay (no longer than 250 words) describing either your leadership role in promoting social justice or how you have overcome any obstacles in your life.

    Criteria:
    Preference give to applicants who are residents of the West Park area and must demonstrate financial need as evidenced by the FACTS Grant & Aid application.

    Requirements:
    Submit a short essay (no longer than 250 words) describing a personal or academic challenge that you have overcome that has helped you achieve academic success.
