  • Does the authorized representative understand and accept that Innovative Donor Advised Funds (IDAF) does not provide tax, legal, or investment advice and the authorized representative agrees to consult a qualified professional before making advising the donor?*
  • Does the authorized representative understand and accept that donations to Innovative Donor Advised Funds (IDAF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit are irrevocable, donations are accepted on the date received, and that confirmation of the donation will be sent to the donor?*
  • The authorized representative understands and agrees to electronic communication and to conduct business using secure electronic signature platforms?*

  • Does the authorized representative understand and accept that grant requests must pass Innovative Donor Advised Funds (IDAF) due diligence process before the grant will be distributed? Innovative Donor Advised Funds retains the right to decline a grant request if it do not pass the due diligence process.*
  • Does the authorized representative understand and agrees not to request grants to Qualified Organizations that are providing grants or scholarships directly to the authorized representative, donor and/or the donors immediate family members?*
  • Does the authorized representative understand and agrees to only request grants payable to Qualified Organizations as defined by the Internal Revenue Services?*
  • Does the authorized representative understand and agrees not to request grants to Qualified Organizations who's primary activity is a sports or extracurricular activity disproportionally benefits the authorized representative, donor and/or donors immediate family members?*

  • Does the authorized representative understand and agrees to provide Innovative Donor Advised Funds (IDAF) with the fee billing arrangement for each account before the account opening for IDAF approval*
  • Does the authorized representative understand and agrees to have a maximum advisory fee that does not exceed 1.5% of the account balance?*
  • Does the authorized representative understand and agrees to provide Innovative Donor Advised Funds (IDAF) with a billing statement, in PDF format, at the same time that fees are billed?*
  • Does the authorized representative understand and agrees to exclude investments with investment management fee sharing or commissions?*

  • Does the authorized representative understand and agrees to create the cash to process approved grant requests and to journal the cash to the IDAF clearing account withing five (5) trading days? Note: Instructions will be sent to the representative via e-signature form for each grant request.*

  • INVESTMENT POLICY TERMS

    In order to ensure that the donor assets are invested in a prudent manner, Innovative Donor Advised Funds (IDAF) has set forth the following investment guidelines:


    • Donor advised funds (DAFs) must be appropriately diversified based on articulated investment strategy at all times (e.g., across securities, issuers, sectors and countries)

    Approved investments:
    • Cash, individual bonds, individual stocks, mutual funds and ETFs
    • Professionally managed portfolios are monitored and continuouly aligned with the Investment Policy Statement and Portfolio Design Guidance agreed to by the donor and IDAF
    • Innovative Donor Advised Funds (IDAF) reserves the right to determine whether an account should be further diversified. All accounts are subject to the Prohibited Investments and Transactions terms
    • The investment allocation target and/or portfolio design will need to be sent to Innovative Donor Advised Funds if requested

  • PROHIBITED INVESTMENTS AND TRANSACTIONS

    The following investments and transactions are prohibited unless otherwise approved by the Trustees:

    • Real estate, except as held in a diversified REIT, ETF or mutual fund position
    • Closely held entities (i.e., Limited Liability Company, Limited Partnerships, General Partnerships, S Corporations)
    • Oil and gas interests
    • Non-publicly traded structured products
    • Futures, warrants or other leveraged investment strategies that employ derivatives, synthetics or forward contracts
    • Promissory notes and mortgages
    • Annuities
    • Life insurance
    • Options
    • Alternative investments
    • Master limited partnerships (MLPs) that generate unrelated business income tax (UBIT) for tax-exempt investors (generally indicated by the issuance of Form K-1); MLPs that provide 1099 reporting are usually acceptable
    • Any other types of investments that may generate unrelated business income tax (UBIT)
    • Debt-financed or leveraged investments
    • Investments in a participating advisor’s or affiliate’s own stock or debt and investments in for-profit companies
    for the purpose of exercising control or management
    • Any other types of investments that the Trustees may deem unsuitable or inappropriate

  • The Innovative Donor Advised Funds (IDAF) Service Fee is automatically billed and debited from the donors dedicated donor advised fund monthly, on the first business bank day, in advance. Billing and services will cease if the donors dedicated donor advised fund account does not have a balance aqdiquate to pay the services fees.

    A services fee is billed and debited from the donors dedicated donor advised fund account for each grant request submitted. The service fee is owed even if the grant request was declined. The grant service fee covers the due diligance process undertaken by IDAF. 

    Service Fees - Effective 1/1/2025

    - Initial Account Set Up: $50 - in Advance 

    - Monthly Account Maintaince Fee: $50 - In Advance

    - Grant Service Fee - $50 - Due and debited at the time of the grant request submission

    - Charitable Planning Consulting - By request only and with a seperate engagement letter. Consulting fee starts at $250 hourly, one hour minimum, and is billed in advance or arrears based on the engagement letter terms. 

    Service Fees debited are shown on your account statement and details can be provided on request. 

    Fees are subject to change and advance notice will be provided. 

    In the event of a conflict between the terms in this section and the terms and conditions in the Donor and Advisors Agreement. The Donor and Advisors Agreements terms and conditions supersedes.
