  • Vision Fair Foundation Scholarship

     

    The Vision Fair Foundation is an affiliate of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Tau Alpha Omega Chapter located in Redford, Michigan.  In keeping with our goal of supporting higher education for young people in Wayne County, we are pleased to announce the application process for our scholarship awards.

     

    The value of the Vision Fair Foundation (VFF) scholarship is $8,000. Two thousand dollars ($2,000) will be distributed over four years provided the student maintains a 2.8 or higher, grade point average in each year in which he/she is pursuing a degree. Other scholarship awards will be given to outstanding students who have applied for the Vision Fair Foundation. 

     

    Applicants must fulfill the requirements stated below:

     

    Graduating senior attending a high school located in Wayne County

    Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 or higher

    Provide a list of extracurricular and community activities over the past two years (two letters of recommendation)

    Submit official transcript

    Submit copies of acceptance letter(s)

    Complete a personal essay that states your goals and objectives and how they relate to your chosen major

    Interview with the Scholarship Committee

    Complete the online application

    All questions should be directed to scholarship@akatao.net . No handwritten submissions will be accepted. All documents must be included in the attachment section of this application.

    Please list your school – related extracurricular activities (such as clubs, student government or sports), the grade you participated in each, and include any leadership positions held (such as team captain or president)

  • Please list the community service activities in which you have participated outside of school and the years (i.e., 2020-2021) you have participated in each. Please also list sponsoring organizations with reference contact information (such as church, Girl Scouts, etc.)

  • Please submit the following 3 documents in the attachments:

    1. Personal essay that states your life goals, and how they relate to your chosen major or anticipated major.The essay should not exceed one (1) typewritten page.

    2. Official transcript

    3. Two(2) letters of recommendation
