Thank you for your interest in applying for Pacific Opera Studio's 2026 Young Artist Program, a six-month long intensive program which is provided on a scholarship basis to successful applicants.

Singers
We are looking for 8-10 exceptional, committed, and reliable singers to join us in 2026. We run a robust program designed to develop and challenge our successful applicants. 

The program will consist of concerts, masterclasses with leading international and Australian artists on both voice and stagecraft, an oratorio, and the opportunity to learn a role and perform in our staged 'Pocket Operas'.

Repetiteur
We are very excited to be continuing our new position for a student 'repetiteur'. We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented repetiteur to join our program as a Young Artist.

The repetiteur will receive coaching and support from world class artists and the opportunity to develop their skills in a variety of styles by playing for concerts, rehearsals, and major events.

Support for artists
In 2026 we are pleased to offer each Young Artist a $5,000 support scholarship.

If you are applying as a repetiteur please read the instructions at the bottom of this form carefully as this will provide information on what you need to prepare for your audition.

Applications close at 23:59 on Friday 7th November 2025.

Live auditions will take place on Sunday 23rd November 10am - 5pm in Sydney, near Central Station. The venue location will be advised to successful applicants in advance.

Audition slots will be approximately 15-20 minutes in length.

Interstate artists are very welcome to apply - this year one of our Young Artists is from WA.

Applying as a Singer
Please list three contrasting arias below. On the day of your audition you will choose one aria to perform and the panel will choose another.

You will be given the opportunity to contact our audition pianist in the lead up to the audition to organise a rehearsal at the pianist's discretion. 

Please upload PDF versions of your arias below and also bring physical copies of your arias on the day of the audition.

Applying as a Repetiteur

We are very excited to be continuing to offer a repetiteur position on Pacific Opera Studio's 2026 program. 

If you are invited to audition for this position you will need to prepare the following:

(Applicants will only be required to play the Recitative preceding the aria)

These excerpts will be performed to the panel without singers; a member of the panel will conduct your playing.

You will also be provided with an excerpt from standard operatic repertoire that you will be asked to sight read on the day of your audition.
