UTRWD Residential Post-Irrigation Season Survey Logo
  • Upper Trinity Regional Water District Residential Irrigation Survey

  • Thank you for sharing your thoughts on outdoor water use and irrigation. This survey aims to capture Upper Trinity Regional Water District customers’ opinions on outdoor water use in your community and current irrigation patterns. You may have taken a similar, pre-summer survey in the spring of this year. Thank you for your continued participation in our post-summer survey so we can learn how this irrigation season went for you and how we can better support you in future seasons. Your input in this survey is still important! The survey is expected to take 7 minutes. Your perspective is valued, and we appreciate your time!

The results of this survey will help shape Upper Trinity's water conservation efforts to ensure plentiful water for all Upper Trinity customers, while also conserving water resources. Survey submissions are anonymous, and only aggregated results will be used to understand outdoor water use across Upper Trinity service areas.

If you would like to enroll in a raffle to win a $100 gift card to your choice to Amazon or the Rooted In Garden Center, please indicate your choice of gift card and enter your email address at the end of the survey.

  • Year Round Water Use Standard Watering Schedule:

    • Upper Trinity customers may water by automatic irrigation or hose-end sprinkler up to a maximum of two days per week
    • Watering by automatic irrigation or hose-end sprinkler is allowed before 10:00 AM and after 6:00 PM on your designated days
    • Hand-watering is allowed at any time, on any day
    • During Stage 2 Drought, outdoor watering by automatic irrigation or hose-end sprinkler is permitted only once per week
  • Definition of the "Cycle & Soak" Irrigation Method:

Divide the total irrigation time into two or three shorter irrigation sessions to allow for more sprinkler water to sink into the soil, rather than pooling and running off the surface. This method of irrigation is better for your yard and saves water because the heavy clay soils in the Upper Trinity Regional Water District cannot absorb water very fast.

For example a 10-minute runtime scheduled to start at 1 AM and the second start time at 3 AM will result in 20 minutes of watering. Most controllers have 2-3 start times per program. Runtimes should be further reduced if the area is sloped.
