• Fence Survey

Richfield Heritage Preserve is in a unique position, being situated in a park surrounded by a fence that spans approximately 4-5 miles. The fence was erected by the Girl Scouts when the property was a Girl Scout camp. The fence’s original function was to keep the Girl Scouts safe. It coincidentally served to keep deer out of the area, and consequently, the area has experienced undergrowth, which is unique to similar zones in Northeast Ohio. Over time, the fence has sustained damage, typically from trees falling onto it, and occasionally from vandalism. RJRD is reaching out to the community for your feedback.
