The new spaces are programmed as Oncology on the sixth floor, acuity-adaptable beds(ICU) on the seventh floor, and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on the eighth floor. The project will add dozens of new beds and family-centered spaces to the hospital, including 47 additional beds in the NICU. This expansion will enable UVA Health to serve more patients closer to home, providing advanced care in a modern, healing environment.
