{GrantYear} {GrantName} Grant Application
Do you have a {GrantName} project or event that needs support this year? The Ed Fund's {GrantName} Grant application is now open to the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) community!
Grant Amounts:
- Classroom Grants: Up to $500 (for projects serving individual classrooms)
- School-wide Grants: Up to $1,000 (for projects serving 3 or more classrooms)
- Community Event Grants: Up to $1,500 (for events serving 2 or more schools)
Who Can Apply?
Anyone from the West Contra Costa community, including teachers, administrators, students, parents, and community-based organizations, may apply, as long as the proposed project or event directly supports a classroom or school(s) within WCCUSD. Currently, we do not accept applications from charter schools.
Priority will be given to:
- First-year teachers
- Applicants who have not previously received an Ed Fund grant
If awarded, a W-9 form is required:
- If you are a teacher, you must submit a W-9 as an individual—you cannot apply or submit a W-9 on behalf of your school.
- If applying on behalf of an organization (e.g., PTA or nonprofit), a W-9 may be submitted in the organization’s name—but the organization must officially sponsor your project or event. Funds cannot be disbursed to a school or PTA unless they are the official applicant and fiscal sponsor of the project.
Please note: Grant awards may be considered taxable income. The Ed Fund cannot provide tax advice, and we recommend consulting a qualified tax professional regarding how grant funds may affect your individual tax situation.
What Can Grants Be Used For?
✔️ Art and creative supplies
✔️ Visiting artists or cultural practitioners
✔️ Scripts, books, and printed materials
✔️ Instruments
✔️ Costumes, props, and decorations
✔️ Materials for cultural celebrations, exhibits, or performances
✔️ Admission tickets to cultural or arts-based events or performances when directly connected to the proposed project
✔️ Other creative materials tied to a specific project or event
What Cannot Be Funded:
❌ Salaries, stipends, or project/event coordination costs
❌ Transportation or field trip costs
❌ Food or refreshments, unless they are an integral part of the proposed cultural or arts-based project or event
❌ Scholarships, prizes, or gift cards
❌ Professional development
❌ Technology (e.g., computers, tablets, cameras, printers, projectors)
❌ General classroom supplies not directly related to the proposed project
❌ Expenses unrelated to an arts-based project
All materials requested must be used in conjunction with a {GrantName} project or community event. Funding requests are reviewed for alignment with the purpose of the {GrantName} Grant, and not all proposed expenses may be eligible for funding.
