  • State of the Region Report - 2025

  • Welcome, and thank you for completing the State of the Region (SOTR) report. This information is used to get an overview of your region as well as a synopsis of the events in your region for any given year.  It is also a great tool to share with incoming reps.

    Instructions

When you have completed a section, click NEXT at the bottom of the page to move on. You may return to previous pages by clicking on the PREV button. Do not use
your browser buttons (arrows) to move around in the report.

The red asterisk indicates the question requires an answer. Your answers are saved when you click on NEXT at the bottom of each page.

You can SAVE the survey and return to it later (this can be on any computer). When clicking on the SAVE, do not create a Jotform account - select the option to "Skip Create an Account" at the bottom of the popup screen. You will be prompted to enter an email or copy a link.

DO NOT click on SUBMIT on the final page of the form until you are comfortable with all of your answers. At that point, your responses will be sent to our
database, and it will be impossible to change them.

If you need help completing the form, please contact the Regional Rep Coordinator at regions@saqa.art.

  • First, we want to capture an overview of activity in your region. Please check all that apply below (more details will be asked later in this survey).

  • REGIONAL MEETINGS

For the purpose of this report, a REGIONAL MEETING is defined as a meeting organized by the reps, to which all members of your region are invited, and lasts one day or less. These can be IN PERSON or VIRTUAL.

The next section will include questions on your Local Connections.

  • LOCAL CONNECTIONS

For the purposes of this report, a LOCAL CONNECTION MEETING is defined as a regularly scheduled (e.g monthly, quarterly, etc.) in-person OR virtual meeting of established groups such as pods or circles. These meetings are intended to serve the needs of SAQA members in a specific geographic portion of your region but may also cross borders into other regions.

If you do not have any local connections, skip to the next page.

  • OTHER EVENTS

Besides meetings (both regional and local connections), tell us what other kinds of events that happened in your region. Did you have a retreat, conference, or workshop? Include both virtual and in person.

DO NOT include exhibitions as you will be asked about those later.

  • REGIONAL EXHIBITIONS

Tell us about your regional exhibitions. This can include juried showcases, trunk shows, collaborative projects, and more.

If you had multiple exhibitions, include them all in the same field. You can also include call-for-entries for future exhibitions in this section.

Include a brief write-up that includes:

    • title and description/theme
    • number of pieces or participants
    • any venues or online events/presentations
    • catalog (printed or virtual)
    • sales history - approximately how many sold?
  • REGIONAL GRANTS

The Regional Grant program has been developed to offer support and funding for special projects to benefit SAQA regions. Regional teams are encouraged to create projects that raise the profile of our art, bring public attention and support, and benefit members of their region(s).

  • COMMUNICATIONS

In this section, we are interested in how you communicate with members in your region.
