  • SCHEDULE

    Pleae note that we are on a limited time schedule this year.  There will not be a lunch break.  The competition will be ongoing.   Please come prepared. 

  • PREMIER CHALLENGE CUP
    5 STEP SAILORS HORNPIPE.  Open to all premier dancers.  Two classes:  15 & under and 16 & over.

    HORNPIPE Prizes:  

    15 & under - 1st $50, 2nd $30, 3rd $20.
    16 & over - 1st $50, 2nd $30, 3rd $20.
     

    COMPETITION SCHEDULE
    Check in at

    9:15. Dancing begins at 9:30 with Beginner Fling.

    Note: The hall will not be open until 8:30 AM.

  • RULES
    ·    RSOBHD rules will be followed.

    ·    First to enter last to dance.

    ·    All dancers must present a valid 2026 RSOBHD Registration card when registering. If a dancer does not have their 2026 RSOBHD Registration card, they will not be allowed to compete.

     ·    Primary awards will be given after the Sean Triubhas.

    ·    Communication by a dancer or parent of a dancer with the judge or piper is grounds for disqualification.

    ·    All competitors are expected to comply with the Code of Ethics as printed by SDUSA.

    ·    Behavior by any competitor considered unacceptable, whether on or off the platform, that disrupts the competition, competitors, organizers or judge may be grounds for disqualification from the competition as decided by the organizer(s) and/or the judge.

    ·    Any dancer not on hand when their event takes place will forfeit their entry in that event.

    ·   Dancers must be prepared to fill in for the Reel.

    ·   Dancers must remain in dancing attire until all medals and trophies are awarded.

    ·   Protests must be made in writing and submitted to the Competition Organizer within 7 days of the event accompanied by a $25 fee that will be refunded if the petition is warranted

    ·   Three-Month Rule – Judges may not adjudicate any competitor that they have instructed for a period of three months. If a competitor has entered a competition with a judge they have attended a class or workshop within the last three months, the dancer must step down from the competition.

    ·    All dances count towards trophy except for the Premier Challenge Cup.

    ·    Medals will be given in all categories, except for Premier 16 and Over where money prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.

    ·   If mailing enty, mail entries by January 10, 2026.

    ·    Place in class is not determined until all entries and entry fees are received.

    Dance fee includes family entry into event

  • NUMBERS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AT EVENT.  NO NEED TO SEND ENVELOPE.

    Berkeley is in the East Bay off of Highway 80

     Take the University Ave exit from Highway 80.  This is an older building and is not ADA compliant.

     here are TWO Finnish Halls in Berkeley.  Please verify on your GPS that you are traveling to the Finnish Hall at 1970 Chestnut St.

    There are several hotels in the area.

    There is very LIMITED parking at the hall and in the neighborhood.  There is a school with a parking lot a block away.
