  • Issued by: National Deaf Interpreters Core Circle (NDI-CC)
Event: Deaf Interpreter Conference 6 (DIC5)
    Date Preference: Summer 2028
    Attendee Count: Approximately 300 participants

    Introduction & Purpose
The National Deaf Interpreters’ Core Circle is seeking proposals from suitable venues to host the Deaf Interpreter Conference 6 (DIC 6) in Summer 2028. This biennial event brings together Deaf interpreters, professionals, and stakeholders for an enriching experience that fosters professional development, networking, and knowledge-sharing in a Deaf-centric space.

DIC 6 aims to provide an inclusive, accessible, and immersive experience that fosters knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and cultural affirmation within the Deaf interpreting field.

To support the initial planning and logistical needs, NDI will establish a $5,000 startup fund for the selected host institution or organization. This amount will need to be repaid from conference proceeds. Additionally, NDI and the hosting entity will enter into a 60-40% profit-sharing agreement, with 40% of the net profit retained by the host and 60% returned to NDI to sustain future DIC events and initiatives.
