2026 St George's Cathedral Confirmation Application

For Children from Year 9 to Year 13 of Secondary School
The Sacrament of Confirmation perfects and strengthens the grace given at Baptism and completes the initiation of the Catholic, enabling them to witness to Christ as His disciple in the world.

Here at St George’s we invite baptised young people from Year 9 to Year 13 to join our programme of formation.

The formation sessions take place on alternate Friday evenings from 7 pm to 8:15pm from Friday 17th October 2025 to Friday May 22nd 2026 .

An online parent's meeting will take place on Thursday 16th October at 8pm parents when we will share further information about the course and what is expected of your sons and daughter to be able to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

It is important that this meeting is attended by a parent or an over 18 member of the family.

As part of the Confirmation preparation there will be a full day Saturday retreat in 2026 and we will share the date via email as soon as possible.

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred by Canon Gerard Bradley at a special Mass on Pentecost Sunday, May 24th 2026 at 3:30pm.
