I’m inviting you to join me in Weaving Turns, a durational weaving performance and installation. Together, we’ll reimagine the loom as a collaborative game board.
Each session lasts about an hour and begins with a welcome tea. I’ll introduce a simple frame loom weaving “game” that uses light prompts—or “game moves”—to invite us to echo, disrupt, repair, or surprise as we play. We will sit across from each other at a horizontal frame loom, taking turns weaving one pick at a time. Rather than competing, we’ll co-create a shared textile while talking about ideas of resourcefulness and care.
No weaving experience is required and materials are provided. However, you are welcome to bring scrap yarn, fabric, or any other material that holds personal meaning—anything can become part of the weaving.
At the end of each session, if the textile is complete, it will be cut and hung in the gallery as part of a growing installation. If it’s not finished, it will carry over to the next session.
